Harry in the pic of your 20' HEP R the Wimbleton White really shows off the cream shade of its hue. More so than any other picture that I have seen. Maybe time of day. Beautiful car!
Still grit my teeth every time as sure would have been nice if Ford had this color in the beginning!
Finally got around to picking up a frame for this signed picture of George Montgomery's ( Ohio George) 69" Boss 429 drag car that held several NHRA records back in the day. Greg (Georges son) & George had built a 429 Boss engine for us a few years ago. It was always a treat to go travel to...
You are going to be so happy with the results! This has been so exciting for the crowd to follow. In the end Mr. Brocks work will be the choice for many. Personally I think he has it spot on with the lower stripes & the placement of the #'s just flows correctly with the hockey stick vent above...
My understanding from PP0001 is that the last HEP R will belong to the Ford family. If this one would be offered at auction it would be very entertaining to see what the hammer price would be. As this car will be most likely the last naturally aspirated , manual transmission , engine...
Tom, During the hunt for a" Base R" I came across HR001 at the southern Indiana Ford dealership. If memory is correct they wanted $71K for it. Several months passed & I would call every once in awhile. They would not come off of that price. So kept up the hunt till we purchased GR245. During a...
Tom, If you recall our 16' was a 96 mile used car. The agent I spoke with had all of the info at his fingertips. So they knew it was a second owner car. Also we discussed that the original bumper to bumper had expired in 19'. I did ask twice about the 4 year & he confirmed 36000 /4yr. Seemed...
Good Day Everyone. Received in mail today from our local Ford dealer the opportunity to re-up the 36000 - 4 year warranty for the total cost of $4355. When I called to get the low down the call was directed to a Ford call service & the gentleman passed along this info based on year model (16') &...
Thanks sox3. Yes will show off pump when done! Are you still working at the refinery?
Would you care to share some of your Sunoco collectables? Would love to see some of it.
Hello Everyone. Been some time since being involved here. Snapped a couple of pics of an old gas pump that was used many years on our farm. It is a "A.O. Smith" model , late 50's early 60's.
It was well used over time & needed some metal work to get it back as new. When restored it will carry...
Good Day Harry, Great to see that you & Lynn have the new R at home. To let you know Shelly & I when in Arizona a handful of years ago stayed a night in Globe & traveled around that area for a day checking some of the landmarks. We really enjoyed the state parks & exploring some of the wild west...
A Plain Jane R. Would be so cool to have the build sheet that was delete all of the missing items. reminds me of Plain Jane Boss 302's back in the day, flat hood (no shaker) no rear deck spoiler, no power steering, radio delete, no console, no rear window louvers, steel wheels with dog dish hub...
Harry you bring up some interesting #'s & thoughts. "IF" it works out that HEP's numbers are the sum of 350 seems quite possible that the very last GT 350 ever produced would be a HEP R that is headed for the garage of Mr. Ford.
As jvandy50 mentioned make sure you check the facia as with this kind of impact I'd sure be surprised if most of the mounting female receiving tabs have been cracked. When installing our Ford Performance front tow hook facia was off & noticed that 3/5 were cracked from impact of the "R"...
