I used a pick with a 90 degree angle. There's a small hole at the top of panel you can slip it into and pull out.

Another vote for Knu Konceptz. I used their battery terminals, power wire, fused distribution blocks, inline fuse holder, set screw terminals, speaker wire, and rca cables when I upgraded my system. I opted to just order what I needed rather than a kit. I would have ordered more speaker...

This is exactly why I wanted to avoid MFT with my mustang. I had it previously in a Focus but with the over promising and under delivering of updates and features and no aftermarket upgrade path away from MFT I knew I wanted nothing to do with it this time.
