So yes, long story short it fits. There are a few modifications you have to do with the attachment points on the hood with a different faster but it does hold. There is enough stretch to go over the 'R' splitter as well. It is easy to clean too, just take a damp cloth and wipe it off...

The battery is under the cover on the passenger side towards the firewall. Three push pins hold the cover on. Take all three push pins out and pull the cover up to gain access to the battery. Jump it as normal.

I think it is perfect. It is not as much as stock but doesn't need to be reduced further. I am still on the fence if I want the shifter to sit a bit lower, but I think that might counteract the smoothness of rowing through the gears as it currently is right now.
