Fair enough! Only vehicles I've ever had issues with are a Dodge and a Jeep. The Fords and GMs have all been rock solid, well except 1 of the f150s. Consumer Reports and JD power will still tell you anything made by FCA is absolutely terrible and I do feel this is a big reason why they have...
That's part of the reason resale is so low and the reason I wouldn't buy a new one when a couple year old one is so much cheaper. It's better if you can meet the previous owner too.
Trucks hold their value really well, except Dodge/Ram, but who wants a Dodge out of warranty???
The sales are not that bad. They're about what they used to be, the difference is the Mustang sales skyrocketted when the S550 came out, Camaro just stayed flat. Still outsells the Challenger and no one is thinking the Challenger fee is on its deathbed. I'm sure as a whole it's a money...
I think 455 will fall short as it is, since the torque will still be less. Sure, 460 is "enough" and everyone will say it has more power, ignoring the fact it has less torque because it has more gears, but reality would mean it's still playing second fiddle.
Ford loves to outdo GM, which is...
No, it's not false. One of the big reasons Di gains power is it's always accomponied by an increase in compression. You not believing that doesn't make it less true.
A lot of the gains seen from DI come from being able to use higher compression, that IS the big advantage. Every manufacture I can think of increased the CR when they made the change.
I'm sure we will find out in a few months, should be a screamer!
I think he is referring to it being discontinued, in 2002. In 1998 the ls1 engine came out and the car was considerably faster than the Mustang, but it didn't help sales all that much as it wasn't a good daily driver.
I know the engine is all new, but they do that all the time. A lot needs to change between the heads, intake manifold, pistons, cams, etc etc for. DI. I figured it will be a 5.0 with DI. Higher compression for Di is a given.
470/430 would be about a match in the 1/4 with the 6th gen SS...
It was also the cam, allegedly because of AFM limitations at the time, but might have been fuel economy/gas guzzler tax related.
Split the difference at 413 maybe...haha
You guys are comparing the power gains of the Ls3 to LT1, but the LS3 was not a AFM engine, the L99 was. L99 was 399hp, so really the gains were from 399hp to 455. Not apples to apples at all though as it was a all new generation of engine.
Personally, I think 460/420 on the low side and...
