This is what I fear. I looked right now, for a 2014 with TP, electronics and Recaros, the three options I see myself wanting it's about 43k in California. That's where my ~50k for the s550 number came from.

Word, well the Electronics are enticing to me, and the TP still has benefits even if you add weight with fluff such as having the big brakes. I'm not as obsessed with keeping 100lbs off the car as I am with having it do everything well: go fast, stop fast, turn fast, nice interior, stereo...

ThePill you don't condone getting the TrackPack? To me it seems like more bang for your buck than buying all the parts included from the aftermarket, moreover they have been engineered to work well together and don't alter your warranty. Now I am not saying you can't do better buy buying bigger...

Anyone care to take a guess how much more the s550 will be to an equally equipped s197. I've heard numbers ~10% which is a lot, that would put a fully equipped GT non-vert close to 50k :eyebulge:. What about the GT350?

The Boss 302 sure is a sweet ride, it has a glorious engine. However you are talking about the difference between a live axle and IRS which should be fairly dramatic, and the new car has a way better interior IMO. Tough call though. Also the s550 is supposed to be faster around the track.

My dealer didn't seem to know what he was talking about and told me to come by in August, after the full reveal in April do you guys expect pre-ordering to be possible?

Great pix JerJax, that Silver is on my short list :) One request I have, it seems everyone takes photos of the s550 with a wide angle lens < 50mm. Can we get some shots shot with a more normal or even mildly telephoto lens. I realize wide angle can help to get the whole car in the frame, but...

What's interesting about this is how it seems relatively isolated to high end manufacturers. Porsche's "Sound Symposer", VW's "Soundaktor", BMW's whole sound through the speakers deal, Lexus's LFA has the system as well.
