  1. Rear Speaker Deck Removal and Amp Install

Was hoping to make another run at this today but I was foiled by the wind.
  2. Thoughts in steeda intake?

This is mine without anything unclipped or de-loomed:

It can get hung up on the side of the box by the fender; try loosening the airbox and shifting it around so it routes better.
  4. Thoughts in steeda intake?

I noticed the lack of drains too, but then I was thinking about it and isn't the cold air pipe downhill from the airbox? Any accumulated water would just drain out that way.

Update on my fitment issues: The larger connection is doing fine now with the re-seated grommet and it did a 400-mile highway run with zero problems. The smaller connection is still backing out a bit. I haven't had a chance to try pulling and flipping the smaller grommet yet, but when I get...
  6. Thoughts in steeda intake?

The larger one fell loose at some point today. It could have been as the engine was cooling after the drive. I'm not 100% sure. I'm keeping a close eye on it. Edit: And I will try flipping the grommet. Can't hurt to try.
  7. Thoughts in steeda intake?

Will do. I'm road tripping tomorrow and I'll be keeping a close eye on it.

So, couple notes after putting some miles on my car w/ the intake installed: The grommets for the PCV connections on the inner side are giving me trouble. The larger one popped in (not out) partially at some point after installation and I had to retrieve it by removing the intake from the...
  9. Thoughts in steeda intake?

This got lost at the end of the last page, it seems. I had an open bottle of 10W-30 and I just put a dab on a paper towel and hit the rings real quick.
  10. Rear Speaker Deck Removal and Amp Install

I used Heinoceros's pictures from pages 1 and 3 as a guide. Haven't really blazed any new trails yet. I can snap a pic of the location I used to tap the signal when I go back in there to adjust the gain on the LOC when everything is ready to test.
  11. Rear Speaker Deck Removal and Amp Install

Started on my amp/sub install today. I decided to tap the front speaker signal from the passenger side kick panel. I grabbed the speaker-out side of the harness rather than the stereo side just because I couldn't tell which set of wires came from the HU and which went to the tweeter. I suppose...

Love hearing that V8 induction noise! Took a little less than two hours, being fairly meticulous. I goofed and forgot to reinstall the MAF sensor before I put the box in and I had to backtrack. That cost me 10-15 minutes. David, etc., if you guys are looking for feedback, the one thing...
  13. Thoughts in steeda intake?

Ditching the factory intake resonator probably makes a pretty big difference in sound just by itself.
  14. Rear Speaker Deck Removal and Amp Install

Didn't get to it today and I'm out of town for work for the next couple weeks. If anybody else figures out anything new, speak up.
  15. Stereo base 4.3" head unit upgrade: Ideas? Plans?***

The last photo is from a different car altogether. No swap.
  16. Rear Speaker Deck Removal and Amp Install

If I can get some snow melt to happen tomorrow, I may take a crack at tapping the front signal and hooking up my amp and subs. Will let you guys know what I find out, if I do find anything out.
  17. Thoughts in steeda intake?

I'm on day 11 and mine hasn't shipped, apparently, so don't take this as gospel if you're trying to predict when yours will arrive.
  18. upgrade just speakers

Don't think that's the case anymore. Unless there's some sort of pass-through going on here that isn't obvious, the Shaker systems in the S550 have amped component speakers. Wiring diagrams here: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14228&page=3
  19. Rear Speaker Deck Removal and Amp Install

I don't know why there would be. If anything, the factory amp might do some additional signal filtering that would be detrimental in the long run.
