Using a Vortech V7-JT head with a 3.33" S/C pulley and 15% ATI crank damper. I want to use the Gates belt lone of green belts. But which one? The stock belt Vortech ships for their standard pulley and stock crank damper is a K081000, which is 100.1". The next size in the green line is K081005HD...

Roxie in AZ uses M/T Street R's (305/45R17) on 10" x 17" JMS Avenger wheels on the rear and the 28" Sportsman on JMS Avengers 4.5" x 17" in front. Roughed the bead on the rims and used Permatex high-tack for mounting on the rears. She's hooking good.

I think you're right. I now suspect its because I mounted the ribbed pulley in the #5 hole and not the #4 hole hole causing the belt to "whip". The first belt installed--when everything was okay--was in the #4 hole. The other two belts I bought are the same size as the first. So, they should go...

Definitely not trolling. I just assumed the factory line-lock could be circumvented. Looking for a traditional way to activate a line-lock as the car is primarily a drag racer. Thanks for your help.
