I hate GM, have hated them since 1983 but I can still tell when they make a decent car, still waiting.
I thought the commercial was funny though, they should have played that in the US.
A FWD MKZ 3.0 made 350 to all four wheels, I haven't seen a dyno for the AWD version but the I have seen tuned MKZ's at the track otherwise stock dip into the 12's. I can picture a Mustang with the 3.0 twin turbo's being a blast to drive, heck it sure makes the MKZ a blast.
Supposedly the new performance variant of the EcoBoost Mustang was from people working their own time after work and Ford liked what they did and decided to make a model based on it so not completely unusual.
Agreed 100%, the quality of the intake lid wasn't near the lid that came off, very rough for the money asked for and the clip closest to the fender once used is not usable for the stock lid anymore. It will clip on, but will easily fall off again. Also, if there is a re-design people who bought...
I need to check my cars build date, I had reservations with the '18 because of the new dual fuel injection and the A10 but co-development etc... I jumped in thinking they got this. Oy and vey.
Congrats, I heard the major difference between H and X was the H had less rasp. I bought the X for the supposedly slightly better flow, we'll see after I install it.
mikengail - You sir are Da Man!! That is exactly the issue I'm having only when mine tries to upshift it throttles down and will stall unless I hit the paddle to upshift. I should have the fuel drain kit tomorrow or Thursday and the car should be going in on Thursday or Friday depending on when...
Ran the car Saturday E85/Tune, unfortunately I bought the car with 20" wheels on it but still the car ran an 11.7@121 with a lousy short time, with tires 11.5's are possible, stock the car went [email protected] since everything else was the same except for the air box and tune I got 3 tenths from...
I bought the Steeda closed CAI and will find out this weekend what the Lund E85R tune and the closed CAI are worth, I'm nearly positive the box itself is not worth much of anything but the tube for the Intake is massive so I'll see what the difference is then.
Right, so the contest was fair then, 427 vs 302, bigger blower because hey budget and smaller blower for the 302 and do you know a single person who didn't know what the outcome would be well before they fired up an engine?
The 5.3 is too weak to be compared to an engine that is a 5 liters...
Well they proved a 427 with a bigger blower will make more power than a smaller engine with a smaller blower. Why they didn't go with a similar 5.3 or 4.8 LS against the Coyote with the same sized blower is beyond logic.
Back in the mid 2000's on a different Mustang forum a bunch of Prius owners were in a thread saying how their Prius could beat the Mustang GT from 0 to 10 mph.... we were like alrighty, you're of course kidding right? They were dead serious.
I installed a Vortech on a 2006 Mustang GT (bigger 66lb injectors and bigger fuel pump) and the base tune netted 3 tenths improvement and the car ran a 13.1@107, after getting a custom tune the car ran 12.1@115 so I'd have to agree, I can only imagine the difference on a Coyote!
I went back to the station with 0 miles till empty showing up 2 miles before I got there. I idled for another 10 minutes and then shut the car off, put 8 gallons of E85 in and waited, AFR dropped to 9.7, I installed the E85R tune and drove it for 20 minutes before doing a WOT and logging it. It...
Every damn station I go to says 51% - 83%...... got my Flex logged but not doing the E85 log until I can find a station that doesn't have the possibility of 51% and still has an E85 sticker on the pump. :curse:
