It's not a 3v. It's still a 4v head just like everything else. It'll sound pretty much the same but it will depend on the exhaust used as to how refined it will sound, how deep it will be, etc.
The SVO was only a limited production special model that sold well for the numbers they were...
I don't see anything wrong with it. It makes more power and torque than the old 3v 5.4 while getting better fuel mileage. That's a win win for me. Not to mention the modding potential
The Focus ST is running a rather small turbo at that. Isn't is similarly sized to a K03? It runs 15-16psi IIRC, which is high on a stock car. You can only do so much before it runs out of breath. I expect the 2.3 to have a larger turbo, but it will likely be fairly small still and run at higher...
Ford's Special Vehicle Operations later turned into SVT so I doubt you'll see any SVO nameplates again. There could be an SVT model for it though.
It should sound just like the 1.6L and 2.0L EcoBoosts do because they are even fire motors vs. odd fire motors like the Mazda 2.3L DISI and...
Then your whole fuel mileage argument is out the window anyway. At posted speeds and under, the change would have little impact. Once you go over 70mph, you can throw the mileage out the window because it will start to suffer in much greater increments as the speed increases. The differences...
As long as you could keep combustion temperatures down with 87 and the other mods. The cost difference between the fuel grades is almost negligible though compared to gains you'd have while being safer.
Yes, but you would still make even more power with the water/meth with premium fuel than lesser fuels. Water/meth doesn't raise octane levels, it cools the air charge. It's not changing the rate at which the fuel burns.
My fobs would trigger the alarm if depressed for more than a few seconds.
As far as the gearing goes, you need to use either the speed that the EPA would regulate testing at(60-65 mph) or use the speed at which most of the countries speed limits are which are 65-70 mph. 75 and 80 mph limits do...
^^^I would still run premium fuel to take advantage of more aggressive timing to yield more power than you'd get with anything lower octane. You wouldn't be able to run as aggressive timing with lower octane before you'd get detonation.
That's not the point. Sometimes people can't afford the initial cost of the V8 or the fuel economy of a V8. Most FWD transmissions(especially automatics), have low torque capacities compared to RWD transmissions. The transmissions in the Mustang will be fine for everyone except the ones who go...
They actually did it so they could run coolant through the manifold to help keep turbo temperatures down. The 1.0L EcoBoost has the same integrated manifold in the head.
I could see the 2.3L being capable of 370hp at the flywheel with a stock turbo, but not at the wheels. It would need a...
Actually that's not realistic because you're forgetting an important variable, turbo sizing. A KO3 turbo at 25psi flows a very different amount of airflow than a GT35 does at the same boost pressure. You could run 50psi all day on a super small turbo but that doesn't mean it will make power...
^^^I've owned quite a few vehicles with keyfobs and I've had buttons accidentally depressed, but never for more than a second. It would take quite a bit for something to do that for more than three seconds in a pocket less than 150' from the car......
As far as reliability goes, if you take...
No, the exhaust manifold is integrated into the head. The turbo isn't integrated into the manifold. I think It could be as easy as making an adapter plate that could allow swapping of turbos. There will be plenty of room in the engine bay to move the turbo around. I think for everything being...
With both cars being driven conservatively(keeping the EcoBoost out of boost), the EcoBoost will see better mileage. With both cars being driven aggressively, the V6 will see the better mileage. On the mostly flat highway, the EcoBoost will see higher numbers. If the highway is very hilly or...
The 1.6 EcoBoost also offers a 6-speed manual in the Fusion. Apparently that's gone for 2015 which is sad.
I think with the Hellcat shocking everyone with 707hp when Chrysler was playing the guessing game with 600+hp, you never know just how it will go. We very well could get a 350hp EcoBoost...
That shaker system isn't cheap. The New Edge Mach 1s lip and grill weren't used on any other Mustang either. Yeah they are cheap and simple add ons but they helped differentiate it from the rest of the lineup along with the graphics and wheels. Also, the Mach 1s used the Bullitts C pillar sills...
