DI pump , all 18’s and up have it , some hear it some don’t , exhaust volume , driving style , manual or auto and surroundings can all influence hearing the pump ..

The 2k rattle is the direct injection that’s why it’s a 2k rattle, this is the revs where it comes in and resonates , similar to an exhaust that drones . If your pistons were scoring your bores you will know it in a hurry including oil consumption. Everyone needs to stop worrying and just send it.

I have similar issue mine is Tickford tuned but mine is mainly when I first get in the car hot or cold and drive through the gearbox for the first time after car has sat for a while , only lasts for the initial drive through the gearbox then it’s fine . I seriously know what your talking about...

In my experience, and I have had this happen to me , it was caused by the tyres being to wide for the rim , with a 19 inch 305 tyres should be mounted on 11 inch rim anything narrower will allow the tyre to blown out and walk on the rim especially at high speed under full acceleration.

I totally agree , even before I read about the 2k rattle , I heard my car do it driving 1st , 2nd gear out of a freeway service station and thought immediately that it was the DI pump , 2k seem to be the happy place where it resonates much like the drone in an exhaust.

It will fit they are all pretty much the same..

Cleaned it

Sounds like bbq tick , I would drop the oil and put 5w 50 in it , if tick still there add a bottle of Ceretek that should get rid of ticking . A lot of 5.0 get tick after oil change. Cheers
