C’mon man. Your talking about the exception not the rule. Those cars (and drivers) are on a completely different level than what we are talking about here.
Auto cars will always go much faster with much less effort than a manual car. You won’t be able to shift as fast as an auto trans which is why you’ll need more HP to go just as fast. More power means more wear on the engine and the drivetrain components.
If your serious about your goal, talk to...
I would bet you’ll need to make some big power and some weight reduction to get a s550 into mid 9’s territory.
The transmission will probably be the first weak link. I would start looking at a built magnum xl to take you to your goals.
I’m working that direction but not quite that extreme...

I have the Borla Touring with headers which is similar to the FP Touring except that the Borla uses a resonated H pipe.
I think the Borla resonator makes a huge difference and it’s still a straight through design. I personally think this combo sounds really good. Not too loud and a nice deep tone.
I know the Whipple continues to make power. I think I’m limited by the tune to 7400-7500 limiter. I’ve hit it once accidentally. Unless someone knows how to change this in the Whipple Tomahawk tool.
It’s a heavy premium car with no weight reduction other than the drag pack. I know it’s got a lot more in it. To be honest, I haven’t pushed the car too hard. The 11.1 pass was with a pretty soft launch and slow shifting. Just wanted to get a clean pass in.
I’m on the stock Whipple tune. I’m...
I know this is an old thread but wanted to give and update as I don’t see much info posted on boosted MT82 cars. I improved my previously reported time a bunch by adding a bias ply drag pack, IRS lockout, vertical links and diff bushing inserts.
I know the car is easily a high 10 second car...
Don’t laugh, but 12.3’s. Clearly a reflection of my inexperience. I’ve never been to a track and certainly have never piloted a supercharged RWD car. The car ripped in the back half once I was going.
I would say the instant torque off the line was the hardest thing to manage in comparison to my...
I have similar goals. My car is a 15 premium with a gen 5 Whipple stage 2 (3.875 pulley). The car also has LTH, stock catback and a Mach 500 clutch from my N/A setup. I took my car to the track for the first time last December and trapped 125 mph. I think the power is there but my main issue was...
