Installed just fine for me and I haven't had any issues due to weight. I think the size is just fine. Your assumption about the installation is correct.

AM has the MMD prepainted deck lids that look really good. Not as robust as the factory, but aesthetically great and should last.

I ordered mine 8 June 16 and the Blend date was this past Monday, 25 July. Still hasn't been released for shipping yet. Vin appeared on 15 July. Hope this helps and congrats. Now the waiting.....
