If the car is garaged there's no reason a good shop can't match a tri-coat or tinted clear paint. Sure its more difficult (hence why Ford charge more) and in some cases a part will have to be painted twice but very doable. If the car is parked outside, well, after 10+ years you'll get some...

Yeah, but I assumed when they tested both cars, the GT was heavily camouflaged (added weight) w/ lots of parameters reading equipment (added weight) w/ more poor aerodynamics as a result of that same covering and instruments. There's more than 30lbs easily of added plastics, straps...

The S550 being heavier and less powerful than the BOSS (444hp), 15HP from an exhaust wouldn't matter if the net gains was 1.5 seconds around a track w/ that many curves. That's a lot. Give it to the new chassis and suspension.

Guys who really like GUARD and have it as their 2nd choice should consider it. I think Guard will be a limited one year color run as Dark Satin Green was in 1999. About only 8,700 Mustangs were painted Dark Satin Green out of 126,067 units sold for that year (6.9%)
