This seems waaaay to common on the 18s to be an actual problem. I'd bet it has something to do with the DI system, or the dual mass flywheel or something. The sound on the 15-17's might sound similar, but is probably a different issue. I wouldn't think the odds of so many people with 18...

Did you go? My car was at the dealer getting the oil pan gasket replaced. There is another on the 5th of May I think, but I'm not sure I'm ready to race it yet...I'd like to get a few more miles on it first.

Yes. And it should get quieter when warm. My car makes this sound also, but only in gear, and I can really only hear it in 1st and 2nd. After that, my exhaust is too loud for me to notice it. Dealership said it was trans related, as they were able to reproduce it.

Just got word from the dealer that the gasket arrived and has been installed. The sealant is set to cure overnight, and the car should be ready for pickup tomorrow. Contacting Ford Customer Care was the right track to take...apparently my dealership had been having a few issues getting that...

My 18 has a leaking oil pan gasket. Been at the shop for over a week now, as the part was back ordered and they didn't catch that until after it was apart. Given how many issues Ford has had with composite oil pans in the past, I'm wondering if my car is just going to be the first of many.
