I haven't tried a topper yet but I will try Kamikaze out in a few weeks. Any silica based topper should work good as a sacrificial layer. Something like Kamikaze overcoat, carpro reload or hydro02, 22ple final coat or modesta m1shot.

When did you have it coated? You can try giving it a light clay before you add the topper. About 6 months after mine was coated I noticed I had a little tougher time drying with the leaf blower and quick detailer. Took it back to my detailer and he went over it with clay and it's back to normal...

Yeah 1000 sounded steep. It was actually 1200 and then I told him I was going to get more quotes and he dropped it to 1000. The way he broke it down was 400 to paint hood, 400 to paint underside of hood and then 400 to blend. I'm going to check out another place today and then another tomorrow...

Got approved by Ford for a new seat cover. Just need to wait for it to come in at dealer.

Pictures were taken and sent to Ford today. Should hear back in a day or so.

Looks like I have an appointment set for Monday at Caruso Ford Long Beach. They are going to take pictures and send them to Ford just like another member in this thread had done. Hopefully I have the same outcome and get a replacement seat. Fingers crossed.

I only get in out of the car when I go to work and back Monday through Friday. I put keys in the cupholder and have my cell in right pocket. Only wear dickies to work so it's not like a jeans button rubbing on it. I'm only 5'8 170.

I had my 08 Mustang with leather for 6 years and never had a problem. It just seems like a odd place to rip since I'm not touching it when seated.
