There are plenty of manual GT500's if you want one, the auto GT500 would be a game changer. I am saving up for the next gen GT500 but will only switch if they offer an auto.
Most of the current high performance sport cars offer an auto, including the most direct competitors, the ZL1 and the Hellcat. The Auto is "optional", lets the consumer choose, I think Ford should offer an Auto for the new GT500 also.
BTW, I have a manual GT500 but if Ford offers an Auto GT500...
If he has a real buyer at $40K over, he should take it and run - don't believe he does, trying to generate interest and a sucker purchase. You will be able to order a 2017 later this month.
It was probably just a dealer who had a buyer looking for a GT350 and purchased this one for them. I have attended many of these auctions and purchased cars, frequently I would buy a car for another person, they would give me a ceiling to bid. Often they were willing to pay much more than me...
May have been one of the magazine cars Ford makes available to the press. Could have some hard miles on it from unskilled writers and editors but it is listed as excellent condition.
Seems like it would make sense to see what Ford does on the pricing for the 2017 before deciding if you want to sell or cancel your order on the 2016, unless money is no object.
Ford may decide they under-priced the GT350 after seeing the demand and ADM's and have a bigger than expected...
How many R models can Ford build per day?
Let' say they have all the materials they need to complete the remaining allocation, they need to build 350 cars, and they start March 1. If they can build 10 per day not including weekends, they could complete the run by late April.
Maybe they don't...
I would not purchase a Camaro because I am not a fan of the styling but I do respect what Chevy has developed, it is a very competitive vehicle and a good performance value.
Stock vs. stock, it looks like the SS will outperform a similar GT, I think competition is good and it keeps Ford...
Yes, but if you drive it, it will plummet in value. If you hold it for 20-30 years and don't drive it, you might get some increase over what you paid but certainly lose money with insurance and holding costs.
The point is, if you are buying for investment, there are much better places to put...
Unless you are just very wealthy and don't care about money, paying an additional $30,000 over sticker is just not a good move financially. In a few years, you are going to look back and wish you had not made this deal. Look at the people who paid big premiums for the '07 GT500, the '12 Boss...
$200K?? Now that the initial allocations are being delivered and the excitement and anticipation is cooling down (as it always does), winter is coming, economy is slowing, they will be lucky to get any ADM at all. The longer they hold it, the less likely it becomes, they needed to sell into...
