Great day, great weather, great FUN for all!
Thanks, Aaron, for the reminder thread, and thanks to Nick for the heads up on the venue change. Big shout out to Mike and his volunteer crew that put it on!! Was a very Happy Birthday for me! Thanks to my wife and Navigator, Jane.
Konis...
Thanks, Rich! Lots of us out here anxiously awaiting some sorted out Konis! Great you were able to help with the development.
We're going strong right through the "winter" out here. 80 degrees and clear today in Sandy Eggo. Last autocross of 2015 this coming weekend, then the...
Think about it......
Sorry for your experience. Very good no one was hurt. Glad "your insurance will be taking care of you." Who is taking care of the rest of us who are paying higher rates for your loss? Wake up.
Maybe your collison warning system, (before you turned the sensitivity...
NO rear shocks!!??
WOW! Never tried that. Lightened your car , too, I''ll bet. I can see why you're getting a little more "up/down motion" Dick... :)
Just kidding. This waiting for Koni Sports struts is getting to me. By the way, what's an "off season"? We run year round out here in...
Suggestion Box Stuffers
Include wider wheels standard on the PP. Something like 10" Front and Rear. With 275 section tires F&R also.
With those changes, I don't feel stagger (F to R) would be as neccessary.
Consider the GT-350 front fenders for the PP if front clearance is a problem.
Make...
Angeles Crest Highway
ACH (Cal Highway 2) is a beautiful hour and a half run from La Canada/ Flintridge to Wrightwood. But weather makes it iffy year round. Snow, of course, in the winter; and rain in the rest of the year causes landslides which can close it for weeks. Google it. If you catch...
Casinos...
Don't forget Harrah's Casino, which is closer to Palomar Mountain than Pala or Valley View. About a mile south of the 76 on Valley Center Rd. AND better.
Valley View's buffet is $20 this month, which is less than the other two; but plan a 30-45 minute wait for the buffet at Valley...
Alignment, again...
Finally made time to get the alignment fiddled with.
Front was pretty easy, if time consuming. Ended up with -2.2 degrees camber up front, with a skosh of toe out. (-1/16" total). Factory settings were -1.1 Left, -1.4 Right, and 0 toe total.
Rear camber looked easy, at...
Required reading for F Street
Thanks for sharing. Sandbox. Ugh.
I've heard about that place, and I don't NEVER want to go thar.
Whose S550 did they use?
How was it prepped?
It's a conspiracy, I tell ya. They're hidin' the S550 data; I just know it.:)
Seems to add to the 3rd gear...
Probably the wrong forum to bring this up; but why no 2015 Camaro? Can't see any difference from the '14?
The tire and wheel allowances between IRS versus stick axles might be a little biased toward sticks. (Can't see a huge advantage for IRS; to need to overcome with larger tires and bigger...
Thanks again, Dick!
Thanks for the CF5 weights. Were those 19s?
Congrats on the Nats. Wish I could find a way to go. Maybe next year.
It is on my bucket list.
You sound like a very experienced autocrosser. When did you start the game? I keep wondering if I should quit this silliness...
Yeah, I'd keep a 1LE around, just in case, too!
quote=ABQautoxer;800162]As for the stagger, the 1LE and Mustang don't really have any understeer issues I would contribute to the wheel stagger. I'm somewhat tempted to run a 1LE next year for part of the year to see how the new tire sizes change...
Back to the future!! The market may catch up!
Sept. 2015:
OZ Leggera HLT- Same as 15 GTPP sizes, offsets, widths, $409 at TIRERACK.
22 lbs vs 32 for OEM GTPP wheels.
Also see Forgestar CF5 $340.
Just bought a 2015 GTPP on 8/31/2015; which was built 7/23/2015.
Check autocross section...
All backed into the corner by the rules.
"That means in FS you're stuck with the mild wheel width stagger and its contribution to understeer."
Bad enough having stagger. 1LEs running 10s and 11s....
Watsa matter with :ford:? Don't they read the rules?
Thanks for the wheel tips...
Help needed please: Lightweight FS legal 19" wheels
I need some leads on SCCA FS legal wheels to replace the heavy OEM PP wheels.
Would rather not use spacers for correct offset, but will consider them, but still cannot go more than + or - 7mm offset, per SCCA rules. Front 19x9, 45mm offset...
