Agreed, they say it's not an alternative to a good European sports car, but what good European sports car fall into the same price bracket? The closest thing I can think is an M235i and anything else at that price is just a hot hatchback. But no one buying a Mustang will want some hatchback...

They are hardly economy commuting despite what EcoBoost might suggest! If you want economy commuting, you get a 1L Fiesta. I imagine the ride of an RS won't exactly have the first say in comfort for commuting.

An MX-5 in the UK is around £20k whereas a GT-86 is around £25k so the comparable cars here would be the M235i, Nissan 370z or other hot hatches.

Ford must be the only manufacturer that can put a £250,000 super car next to a £20,000 family car in the same show room. :P
