Received my snowball (white powdercoat, no engraving) shift knob finally. It is outstanding quality, perfect size and weight, and has been a pleasure to use thus far.
Took 4 months to get it, but that's a whole story all by itself.
Carry on...
NightmareMoon - I think you suggested the same thing I was considering regarding slotting the strut and running camber plates to get a little extra tire clearance.
That discussion is here if anyone's interested: Camber plates + camber bolts = tire clearance?
Found a few pictures of interest, the most notable of which is one I assume to be a page from the Ford service manual referencing the slotting procedure:
And the other a picture comparing the OEM bolts to the two available service bolts. Seems there are multiple part numbers and the bolts...
The nut coming off could have happened to any type of bolt I suppose, but thankfully the full diameter and splines kept it in place. Glad you caught it before it got worse!
I am curious to see whether either hole can be slotted, or if it must be the upper one only (which I assume is the one...
Not to open (another) can of worms on bolts vs. slotting, though I appreciate the data. I'd like to see a shim/plug like this to take up the unused space in the slot: ((((
With sufficient clamp load the OEM bolt might resist slippage under 97% of conditions. For the other 3%...flying...
NvrFinished Thank you sir, I actually do have extended wheel studs (ARP 100-7733 kit - 1" over stock) along with 25.4mm wheel spacers (CJ Pony Parts 1"). I have also picked up the Steeda camber plates, so I'll be able to experiment with this theory now.
I don't like the idea of slotting the...
No pics on the car yet, but a teaser of them mounted. Nitto NT555 G2 in 305/35R19 has a very square shape on a 19x11" wheel. There's no bulge or stretch.

Is this for a GT350 application or a wide-bodied standard GT?
Currently looking at picking up some Steeda camber plates to use in conjunction with slotted struts (or camber bolts) to fit my 305 square setup on 11" wheels without having any poke (tires sticking out past...
2017 GT Premium PP purchased 9/23/17. My last Mustang was a 2002 GT also in Oxford White, so I guess my great taste hasn't changed much :D. I sold an 07 GMC Duramax diesel to get back into a fun car... I missed rowing my own gears. Test drove everything, but kept coming back to the S550...
2017 GT Premium Performance Pack 401A in Oxford White
Purchased in Hendersonville, NC on September 23rd 2017 but it was a drive to pick it up. I'm located in the Huntsville, Alabama area.
Closing in on 3,000 miles already...with 8qts of Penzoil Ultra Platinum at the ready
The goal is to fit the following SQUARE setup on a 2017 Mustang GT PP:
MRR M600 19"x11" +50 wheels
305/35R19 Nitto NT555 G2 tires
CJPP 1" spacers (which are true at 25.4mm)
The tires measure out to 27.2" tall and 12" wide (actual real-world measurements, tiresize.com says 27.4" tall...
Has anyone got any updated information to share regarding these smaller key fobs? I’m interested in buying a spare fob to disassemble and turn into a credit card sized “smart passive key” that will fit in a wallet.
Seems like it would make a good winter project :)
After extensively researching wireless chargers WITH magnetic mounting, a friend and I (we are both S550 owners) found the XVIDA products. They use magnets in their phone cases AND in the docks, for ultimate retention strength (cheaper products only use magnets in the dock, with only a thin...
