  1. SEL - Evaporative emission system

So, finally got an update from the dealer. This time, they've identified the canister purge valve as the culprit and the part comes in tomorrow. Interestingly, a quick search says that a problem with this part can cause a variety of problems related to the wrong amount of air entering the...
  2. 10R80 Owners - ULTIMATE M6G 10R80 Facts + Resolutions to harsh or no shift conditions

I don't have mine to check, but actually I'd noticed lately that mine wasn't accelerating off the line as well as I remember prior to some service for another issue. Now that you mention it, I can kind of remember launching and there being that kind of hesitation before I get the kind of...
  3. APR/Loan rates/terms for 2023 Custom Order Question

I think this thread suddenly went off-track a bit. I don't believe the 2.9% financing is available from Ford right now, is it? The OP was in January.
  4. SEL - Evaporative emission system

Wouldn't surprise me a bit. If they don’t get it right this time, obviously, I’ll be off to a different dealer.
  5. SEL - Evaporative emission system

So, took my Mustang in again for the evaporative emission system. An interesting tidbit I learned is that in the first round, they had to enlist Ford's engineering team to figure out what was going on. I'm pretty convinced that they screwed something up the first time around, because the car...
  6. Would you guys trade in your current mustang for the 2024 dark horse

I'm not following you. I said the only thing I like about it is the name, so no, I wouldn't trade.
  7. SEL - Evaporative emission system

Well, lovely. Was out driving today and the SEL light popped up. Ford Pass app is telling me it's the evaporative emission system AGAIN. So back to the dealer we go.
  8. Would you guys trade in your current mustang for the 2024 dark horse

The only thing I particularly like about the Dark Horse is its name. So no.
  9. Noise when parking out, steering left

I definitely hear/feel some wonkiness if I lock the steering in either direction. So I've just gotten into the habit of leaving a tiny bit of a gap when doing complete low-speed turns.
  10. Happy 4th of July everybody 😁

Thanks, and same to you and everyone else. As I like to do (without being "that guy"), I'll also wish everyone a happy Independence Day, my preferred way of referring to the holiday.
  11. 10R80 Owners - ULTIMATE M6G 10R80 Facts + Resolutions to harsh or no shift conditions

Can you describe this a little more? I think I might be experiencing this, coincidentally or not after I had mine serviced for a leak in the evaporative emission system. I remember the throttle response being much quicker, but now there's sometimes a distinct delay when I aggressively press on...
  12. Mustang Gender Reveal!

Okay, it's early and I haven't had any coffee yet. But when I first read this, I took it to mean a gender-reveal of the Mustang, which I thought was weird, but sure. Took me a few minutes to realize it was just another way to do a gender reveal for, you know, a child. Congrats!
  13. Big insurance increase (State Farm)--anyone else?

I think we're talking about different things. You seem to be talking about a return to levels prior to the extreme rise in inflation. I'm talking about a persistent drop in prices not in reaction to excessive inflation. Both inflation and deflation can be bad things depending on the cause. I'm...
  14. Big insurance increase (State Farm)--anyone else?

In an optimal, free economy, deflation (i.e., an actual decrease in prices) could be a good thing. In our economy that’s so perverted by government fiscal and monetary policy, it could be devastating. BTW, what you describe isn’t deflation but just lower inflation. And yes, inflation is a huge...
  15. 10R80 Owners - ULTIMATE M6G 10R80 Facts + Resolutions to harsh or no shift conditions

Can’t recall, but I’ll try to pay attention next time.
  16. 10R80 Owners - ULTIMATE M6G 10R80 Facts + Resolutions to harsh or no shift conditions

Mine does remain smooth in normal mode. That reminds me to check in Sport mode via the shifter.
  17. 10R80 Owners - ULTIMATE M6G 10R80 Facts + Resolutions to harsh or no shift conditions

Interesting update to my 10R80... I've been driving the Mustang a lot more aggressively lately (nothing crazy, but more throttle and faster starts), and the transmission in Sports+ mode went from smooth after the fluid top-off and such to a lot more aggressive feeling. Shifts are harsher...
  18. Big insurance increase (State Farm)--anyone else?

Interestingly, the policy on my Mustang and Pilot stayed the same with our most recent statement, while our son's Mazda3 dropped by about $300. We're with Connect by American Family, via Costco, and they've always treated us fairly.
  19. Big insurance increase (State Farm)--anyone else?

I'd like to see less inflation, but I certainly don't want to see deflation.
  20. What car did you come from?

2009 Infiniti G37. Nice car, decent performance, treated me well for almost 13 years.
