  1. Coilover Recommendation

Strikes me as a bad sign this is posted here rather than the Suspension section.
  2. The Dark Horse Isn’t THAT Over Priced

So by your own calculation, the car is over priced. Why make excuses for it? I thought the Mach 1 was overpriced too.
  3. Ford HP PP2 19x9.5 +40 squared??

I thought the PP2 wheels were 19x10.5" front and 19x11" rear? But +35 or 40 should work with anything up to 10" wide, especially if you don't have to worry about clearing the Brembos.
  4. Brake Bias Question #KnowledgeTransferMonday

"Current rules and a modern chassis allows a lot more brake in the rear because the weight transfer is much less." I completely don't understand that statement. What rules? If anything, modern chassis have more powerful brakes which causes MORE weight transfer. And as he says latter the...
  5. Steeda camber plates - does caster change with camber?

Who cares about caster change? It is usually toe change that causes problems.
  6. 3.73 Gears and next Mods

Pretty sure he is talking about the response to him stepping on the throttle. Which if you think gears don't effect, just start a manual from 2nd instead of first.
  7. More camber up front?

IIRC the stock GT alignment settings is like -1.5 F, -1.0 R. Or maybe that was the Track Pack recommended numbers. With front camber plates I was at -2.5 F and -2 R and still wearing the outer edges more on track (thus tend to agree with the -3 F recommendation for track use, but that...
  8. Anyone running Continental EC DWS 06+ or Pilot Sport AS 4?

I have the Conti's on my Focus ST. They definitely seem to be a step behind the grip of the OE Goodyear Supercar summer tires. And despite being the same official size are significantly narrower. Kind of as expected for an all season tire, now that summer is over it is more their time. I wish...
  9. Tracking how do you get better?

I seem to have missed the 10/10th statement and only saw "how do you get better". Having more fun is better. Sometimes when you get more serious/try harder you can have less fun. And maybe doing 5 events is better than just doing one and spending a lot on mods for next year. So having clear...
  10. More camber up front?

Well at my first track day I blistered a pretty new set of front Pilot Super Sports. I had just put the Track Pack on and silly me though that made it track ready. I suspect that based on your current mods you are not planning on driving around at 8/10th just happy you can go kinda fast...
  11. Are the rear FP big brake kit brakes the same as regular GT brakes?

Seems like I remember Vorslag having an issue with JUST changing to the PP front Brembo's on a GT. Maybe needed to change the proportioning valve as well? Even though the regular GT rear brakes and the PP rear brakes are the same. But if you had, I don't know, an Ecoboost, the non PP Ecoboost...
  12. Front Plates and Cops

If does nothing for the citizen, it just provides the state with another excuse to pull you over, write a ticket, and makes their illegal surveillance systems (cameras everywhere/plate readers) work "better". Mandating a front plate was one of the first steps to the highly lucrative (for state...
  13. Unstable rear end over bumps after suspension upgrade

Alignment is always a good place to check. Was everything torqued correctly? Just like the bigger wheels studs on the Mustang require ~2x the torque as many cars, that extends to the suspension bolts as well.
  14. AUTOXER - 2015 GT Autocross Build

But I thought that all you needed to win CAM-C was a stock mustang plus a Stop the Hop kit?
  15. Advice about moving from Performance Tires to Slicks

Pro The performance The cost of take offs (if you have a good supplier) May last longer than street tires on track (depending on compound and how fresh/used they are when you get them) Con Takes off can be inconsistent (and not that cheap) with bad suppliers Often requires another set of...
  16. Tracking how do you get better?

Define better. If you want to drive 10/10ths, HPDE is arguably not the right group/category for you.
  17. Will my 2019 GT with factory active exhaust have a problem with this sound regulation?

The problem is people like to buy cheap land or houses near a track that has been there for 30 years, then complain about the noise that made them cheap in the first place. I can't believe an acoustic engineer would recommend an app on a cell phone for measuring sound. Everyone I have seen...
  18. '15 GT prem PP, Disposable suspension hardware?

OEM's for some reason like to use torque to yield bolts which are not safe to reuse. Ford used to sell a hardware bundle with most of the required suspension fasteners. I think designed to go along with the Track Pack suspension. That might be a good stating point for getting the right...
  19. Talk to me about Time Trials

For a GT I am not wild about the classing which puts me against C5 Z06, C6, GT350, Lotus Elise, Alfa 4C, Base Cayman, Supra GR. But that should be less of an issue with a Mach 1.
  20. What's the deal with the 5-year cycle of helmet certification?

A SA2015 helmet is built to completely different standard than a SA2020 or 2025 helmet. This why it is not as simple as having a helmet that is less than x years old. It is not uncommon for those new helmet standards to take a while, IIRC I have seen a given 5 year standard take as much as 2...
