  1. New 2022 Mustang GT Convertible roof difficult to pull down and latch closed.

Ford does know about it - hence SSM 51523, top stops about 4" above windshield with high latching effort. Still no word on a fix yet. I did have some experience trying to fix this for a guy who bought a brand new '23 EB in MP before the SSM came out. Peeled back the front portion of the top...
  2. Big insurance increase (State Farm)--anyone else?

Can confirm as I have had state farm for the past 10 years. EB Mustang was around $500 every 6 months. '22 GT was $600/6 months. Focus ST ended up being almost the same as the GT. Then the real shocker was the '23 GT - $850/6 months 🙃. Just reinstated insurance on my '66 and that's $300/6 months...
  3. How to you view your Mustang?

I pretty much treat it like the rest of my cars - wash it when I can every 1-2 weeks/keep it as clean as I can, keep up with maintenance, and enjoy it. All cars should be thoroughly enjoyed in my eyes - it's a car, it's built to be driven. Aiming to ceramic coat this one sometime soon as I can...
  4. Pollen!

Yup, absolutely hate it. Car has to live outside all the time now and work has no covered parking with trees everywhere. The wind has also been hell - think you have a decent day to wash it, and by the afternoon it's windy again. It also really blows when work doesn't tell you "hey, we're...
  5. NO compression…. NOW RE-BUILD sleeved gen2.

Yup, failed lifter should leave the valve closed and if it doesn't pump up with oil pressure will either partially open the valve or not open the valve. I'd wonder how much they drove it. Short trips without getting to operating temp can cause oil wash on the cylinder walls (and dilute the...
  6. alarm issues and one other thing

Looks like an OE windshield, most aftermarket ones don't have a Ford logo. If you have Forscan, I think so. I've never used it, but the PIDs you'd be looking for would be alarm_event1-4. Worth a try if you have a laptop and USB-DLC cable (see what works on their website).
  7. BCM REPLACEMENT and I want to ask if this is going to work

That's beyond my level of knowledge unfortunately. If your guy has access to IDS I can send you the IDS as-built configuration data as that's easily available through PTS, I just need your VIN. The only concern I'd have is if your car is supercharged I would not start it until you have a proper...
  8. alarm issues and one other thing

I guess it's just waiting then, sounds like it might get escalated to the local field engineer and then it's up to them on what to do next. If it was me doing diag and having the information provided, I'd be monitoring the alarm event PIDs and then do what sets off the alarm as well as look for...
  9. alarm issues and one other thing

That's a weird one. I'm assuming by ECU you mean the BCM? The BCM will control all alarm functions and monitor doors ajar and receive inputs from the overhead intrusion sensors. If the tech at hand is good, they should know to monitor the BCM's alarm event PIDs (4 of them) and see what's...
  10. BCM REPLACEMENT and I want to ask if this is going to work

I try to help when I can :P. Newer cars are getting harder to work on without spending $2k+ on diagnostic tools and software - although Forscan seems to be a good alternative if you have a laptop and USB to DLC adapter. The BCMB is the little square module mounted to the RH of the trunk on that...
  11. Which is the best S550 Green? [Poll]

Pretty biased to Eruption Green, but it's a tie for me with Grabber Lime. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a Grabber Lime GT350. Must be a pretty rare color option for it.
  12. BCM REPLACEMENT and I want to ask if this is going to work

If there is a BCMB software update available, yes. The only issue is Ford's diagnostic software doesn't always like PCM's that have been reprogrammed with an aftermarket tune and will usually require reflashing to OEM calibration to access module programming. Not always the case, but something...
  13. BCM REPLACEMENT and I want to ask if this is going to work

Curious to how you've deemed the BCM as point of failure for the tail lights not working right? Usually tends to be a fault with the tail light itself, or with the '15-'17s I think there's a BCM-B software update (separate module from the BCM - solely controls the sequential tail lights). As...
  14. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Still jelly of your grabber lime! Wish I had the money back in 2020 to get a EB HPP in that color and speced to Ford's press car vs the iconic silver I ended up finding. Currently hating spring with all the pollen. Washed my car last weekend due to all the pollen splodge...and it's already...
  15. Non-disclosure of Mach 1 engine replacement by Dealer

Care to share your VIN? I can try and review the warranty history and hopefully see why they replaced the engine. Pre-sale repairs aren't uncommon unfortunately. Transporters aren't the most careful people and tend to damage body work more than engines, but there are cases of brand new cars...
  16. This was almost fun

Good defensive driving! Always expect the unexpected. My friend/roommate ended up buying a used Boss 302 about a year ago. We had a lot of rain and wind going on around that time (monsoon season). One night after heading back from Phoenix a huge ass tree from the median decided it wanted to lay...
  17. Factory Wheel Bros

On the factory wheel boat as well. I really disliked the refreshed black accent 5 spoke wheels at first, but after owning them I really like the look they have. As said by others, I just wish they were a bit wider. I have a set of 4 rear PP1 wheels that I need to put some sticky rubber on as...
  18. Per Ford (officially) the 2011-2019 F150/Mustang 5.0 “Typewriter Tick” is a normal characteristic

I think your theory might be right, sounds about the same. I was wrong in that Coyotes have forged rods and crank, but not pistons. I'd think forged stuff would definitely cause a racket if something is hitting something, especially if there may be design or manufacturing inconsistencies.
  19. S550 shift sequence

Brand rivalry is a given. Although, once you get a taste of something you're not normally used to, but falls within your flavor, you realize that not only is X brand ok but so is Y brand. Same for working on cars: you realize that not only is X brand :curse: but so is Y brand...and almost every...
  20. Per Ford (officially) the 2011-2019 F150/Mustang 5.0 “Typewriter Tick” is a normal characteristic

(TLDR - 45 pages is a lot) Brand new '23 and I do have a nice consistent tick at idle when warm. The '22 I had had no similar noise to it whatsoever. Tick has been present since I bought it ~500 miles ago. No issues I can feel performance-wise. Kinda lame to have a noisy motor, but as long as...
