Nice! I've read great reviews about the x8 and the IDMax as well. Just never wanted to go through the hassle of changing the head unit. Does it make a big difference?
Thanks, bud! Glad you liked it. I agree about the P2s, they are lovely. I was initially getting the P3s, but found a good deal on these so I pulled the trigger. I'm never really going to use them at full blast anyway so the 500watt vs 300 watt difference wasn't a big issue at all.
What...
I was going to order these as well, but there was a speaker level input harness provided with the amp. I guess you get these from Kicker, and JL as well, just like the RF ones you got (I do like the RF ones better). In the end, it works like a charm!
That is correct! The Focal amplifier accepts speaker level inputs and did not require an LOC. I have no issue in the sound that is produced and the signal is very clean.
Okay! So, I wasn't quite enjoying the carbon fibre wrap on the box, it started looking a little tacky after sometime. Therefore, decided to have it painted and gave it a black piano finish. Looks way better, and I added grilles to protect the subs since I use the trunk quite a bit. Also, i...
The 6.5" mid-woofers in the doors are only tuned for low frequency. There's hardly and vocals coming from there. The 3.5" speakers get mids and highs, so the tweeter works indeed!
I hope that's what you wanted to ask, bud!
Hi Mike! Thanks, and I'm glad you like the setup! Honestly, even I have industrial velcro holding the box in place, as of now. No issue as such and I've read about quite a few people using velcro to hold the box. However, I do plan on drilling 'L' brackets on the back since I have space, and...
Hi Guys!:)
After a lot of time and money invested (read; wasted:frusty:), I finally have an upgraded audio system which sounds exactly like I wanted it to! Many threads have covered audio upgrades, so I'll try keeping this as short as possible :p.
My choice of music is quite varied, with more...
You're right about the inputs on the 500X1BD, bud! However, it accepts speaker level input via the RCA adapter. So, I'm guessing I should be good without the LOC. I'll be getting the P2D4, which is 4 Ohm and I'll wire them at 1 Ohm which this amp is capable of handling. Got this info from...
Nice clean setup there, bud! I was told, however, that there's a lot of processing in the rear channel after the amp, so it's best to use signal at the amp. Not sure if an LOC makes any difference:shrug: I'm getting 2 RF 10" DVC subs soon! Still contemplating whether I should use the...
Hahaha  I agree! But I'm sure I'll settle once the bass is balanced out with the overall system. I'm in no mood to go overboard with the audio, got other cosmetic mods lined up :p
Thanks again! I'll have a look at those forums as well and I just checked that 'sqnut' is located close by, so I'll get in touch with him soon.
Cheers! :hail:
Hi Mumbles,
Just went through a lot of threads that you have posted in, great info that you've been sharing!:clap2:
I've wasted close to $300 on testing speakers alone! Finally, I have a setup that is much better than stock. I would agree that the sound is much more balanced after I...
It sucks! I don's understand how it's possible for the front and rear channels to be at 4 Ohms and one center channel to be at 8!!! Or maybe they're simply using 8 Ohms at a lower wattage, whereas the channel is actually 4 Ohms.
Just tried to replace the center speaker on my 2016 Mustang with premium Shaker audio (without subwoofer) and found out that it's rated 8ohm/12.5watt! Unbelievable! I just bought a pair of Infinity REFs rated at 4ohm, and now they're junk :frusty:
Hey! What LOC did you use? Planning to install 2 10" Rockford Fosgate subs paired with a Punch 500BD amp. I'm currently running an Alpine powered sub without an LOC, tapped from the rear speakers without any issue. Just wanted to know if the LOC will make any substantial difference.
