I had piston slap and scoring in the cylinders on my first engine. A much different sound. I also had them replace my clutch, flywheel, transmission (mt82 obviously) and driveshaft. Result? Still had the 2.5 rattle (mine is closer to 2,750-3,000). I swear since I put the h pipe on last week...
I installed a Steeda H Pipe this weekend, and between that and removing/plugging the sound tube, it's a non factor. Still audible on cold start, but after that I'm just loving the sound. I'm convinced that it's the high pressure fuel pump and a "normal" characteristic for the motor, even...
No idea how I missed this tsb, does anyone have video of the exact sound of the "chirp"? I get one at idle time to time and have always suspected something involving tensioners or oil return.
Gotcha, I know what you mean now. I don't think I saw that on their website, they did have some different stitching and parks that looked really good. I've been blown away by the quality of all the things I've bought from them.
Maybe, first you have to explain what piezo style perforations are:/. Red thread would look good, I got the grey because it matches my Recaro seats and I've already done the bolsters. I have done GT350 alcantara door cards to throw in too.
Added some Ford/AirDesign hood vents. I think they look good, the castings, at least the honeycomb looking parts, aren't perfect but they'll work. I think I made the right choice with satin black over painted gloss black, makes them stand out more, but I'm sure I'll second guess it.
Good idea in the sealing of the housing, I think I'll dab some sealant on there today. My red led comes in with the lights, it flashes with brake application. Geen and purple to red, red and yellow to blue.
Well, i went with an "unbranded" eBay special. Had some credit I needed to spend there. Looks identical to the MMD unit, in fact I used their install instructions. Sucks that they sent me the wrong one, but that's what I get. All worked out, gave me an excuse to be in the garage longer...
Added a fancy LED smoked reverse/brake/tail light, looks even better in person. They sent the one for a 15-17, but I wasn't about to let that stop me. I cut off the mounting tabs and made new ones out of stainless steel. Also changed out the original diff fluid for BG Ultra 75-140. Luckily...

Anyone tried this yet? I'm guessing it's going to be pretty popular but I haven't seen it yet...
