Haha I didn't even know this was a seat belt chime. I thought the car was just meant to go "bong bong" every time you turn it on.
I always thought it was annoying so thanks for posting this!
And I always wear my seat belt, by the way. It's just that I usually put it on after starting the car.
Perhaps part of the reason the hood seems so long is because of it's shape (lack of downward slope), making it much more visible to the driver.
What kind of car are you comparing the Mustang to regarding hood length and visibility? I have read many comments of this sort and I thought I would...
I grew up on my parents' 1990 e30 325is and loved that car. In fact my parents are still driving it with over 350,000 miles. After much consideration, I decided that the 6th generation Mustang is the true spiritual successor to the e30, so I ordered one.
Guys. I just figured it out. This review is satire. I can't believe we missed it for two days but just think about it. Just read the review.
He first manifests the worst stereotypes about someone who doesn't like the EB, promising that he wants to like it, but just can't, bemoaning how it...
This seems a little teeny tiny bit exaggerated. I mean, we could have said this back in 70s with the advent of the EPA. But Detroit just made more efficient and clean-running V8s. The story could just repeat itself with new CAFE standards. With Corvettes reportedly getting 35 mpg from their V8s...
While I stand by the notion that my original post, and some of the subsequent discussion, could be helpful or interesting to some people, I must admit that this thread seems to have degraded in a rather predictable way.
I did not notice the increased noise in the PP (Eco). Again, I didn't hit any real potholes, so I'm not sure my comment quite addresses your concern. It stands to reason that the stiffer suspension would produce more noise but I just didn't notice it.
Hmm, thanks for the info. Also perhaps it...
If I was buying a car based on the sound it makes I would want someone to talk some sense into me :)
I'm not sure but it's probably worth pointing out that the GT costs about 7k more than the Eco, not 4k.
Yep. Clearly if raw HP is your main interest, the GT is the better choice.
I haven't driven a Camaro but I have sat in one. I felt that the better outward visibility of the Mustang is, by itself, enough to make the choice for me. Based on spy shots it doesn't look like the 6th gen Camaro improves upon outward visibility much.
Interesting. Good to know that it can probably be tuned out. It seemed to be much more pronounced on the Ecoboost than the GT for some reason, but maybe I was just imagining it. It's too bad there isn't be an exception to this particular feature for manual trans cars since it has such an impact...
Several people at the dealer reassured me that it is a 15 and will arrive well before August. Maybe they're wrong (I made it very clear to them that if they are, and the car does not arrive until August, I will not be buying the car). Or maybe the internet is wrong about the whole due date...
I saw that thread as well, but I ordered mine at the dealer 5/2, the day after the "due date" and several people at the dealer reassured me that the 5/1 due date is not real and that my car will be a 2015 and will arrive well before August. Maybe they are just wrong? We'll find out soon enough...
So after testing both engines, my impressions are somewhat different from what I was expecting based on what I had read on these forums and in magazines about turbocharged engines, so I want to pass on those impressions in case it might help others who are considering both engines and are...
As I think I mentioned in my thread about the Ecoboost, I test drove an eco PP and a GT non-PP. I should start off with a disclaimer: some of the differences I observed may be due to the heavier engine in the GT. Some of it could also just be my imagination. Note the GT non-PP was an auto so I...
