Regarding tapping in to the rear speakers - aren't the lows filtered out in the rear? Or do they get the same signal as the door speakers?
I've heard that this is the case with the premium systems, but not sure about the base system.

If you set it to et mode you can see the digital read out of the velocity. I believe this is more accurate than the needle. Compared to the cruise control setting there is a steady error of about 0.75 mph. Which is typical.
So, what I'm saying is that I think the cruise control read out...
Straw man. There is virtually no space lost with a two year old (front facing) car seat installed. It was the infant carrier, rear facing car seat that made the passenger seat unusable.
OK, either everyone else here has had more luck than we have, or they haven't seriously considered the dangers of having a pregnant woman in the wrong position with respect to the airbags in the passenger seat.
