  1. When selling your car, what do you require and allow on a test drive?

Ive had people show thier valid license and insurance and sign a short liability form so they understand they were responsible for damages under thier insurance. I think its reasonable to set limits on the test drive if you feel comfortable letting them drive, as others have suggested. You could...
  2. Upgraded and or replacement bushing MT-82

I was looking for this as well since I had my trans out, but couldn't find anything. It would seem you have to upgrade the entire assembly to a short shifter. I opted for the Barton 1 post shifter bracket to help stiffen it up and not spend a fortune on the entire assembly...
  3. What is happening to my car? At a complete loss

How long have you been running the tune? Those tunes for CAI are pretty straightforward so I'm wondering if something else is going on, but as Robvas mentions, we need the codes to really narrow it down. Have you checked for any loose fittings around the CAI that could be letting air in at the...
  4. Tilting engine for transmission removal and installation

I'm curious if anyone has any tips on tilting the motor to help slide the transmission in and out. It seems easier when the transmission is in to use it as leverage, but after it's out, there doesn't seem to be any great leverage points aside from hanging on my long tub headers, which I'm...
  5. Considering a Whipple, what do I need to know?

Usually, when you get an e85 tune you'll buy two tunes and have a pump gas (91 or 93 octane) on hand if you can't find any e85. 95% of the time I'm filling up at the same station anyway.
  6. Prepping for E85 - Personal Experience on Switching

Ive been using e85 for a couple years with no issue, Ive heard that keeping the tank full if the car will sit for an extended period helps with the moisture build up, so Ibe done that and haven't had issues. I have an inline sensor and a gauge that measures the ethanol content, Ive learned...
  7. Considering a Whipple, what do I need to know?

Is e85 an option in your area?
  8. Icy roads, black ice, and close calls: how are you driving this winter?

This is my solution for the winter
  9. How to remove the damn oil filter without making a big mess?

I use a piece of aluminum foil to make a little aqueduct to my drain pan. Its rather fun to be honest.
  10. Tire and wheel for 800whp

Right, I'm getting it rebuilt and upgraded to the RXT right now with McLeod. I'll just need to change my driving habits off the line to avoid the RXT taking out my MT82. I think I'll be reading up on the PCMTEC as well, that sounds promising.
  11. Tire and wheel for 800whp

I'm using the NT555R2's and they do give me a lot more traction at 825HP, but I have only been using them for a couple of months. What I did learn is this will put more stress on the rest of the drivetrain and I ended up glazing over my RST clutch because I pushed it too hard from a stop. So be...
  12. Spool Perf E85 Tester

I did this with the links I posted above. I love it. I've been able to use it to identify what stations have better ethonal content in my area.
  13. Spool Perf E85 Tester

For the cost I think I'd go with at least an inline sensor to monitor with a gauge at least. This is what I went with: https://amzn.to/3N2l4Hn https://amzn.to/4spDCBB
  14. Considering Whipple Stage 1....

The sales are nice, but just know it never stops there. I bought mine a couple years ago from Beefcake and basically upgraded it to a stage 2 when I ordered it. Bigger TB, smaller pulley, Fore fuel system for e85. Then I needed a new clutch and sticker tires. It's so much fun and I love it 6000...
  15. Clutch issues with a coolant leak

I reached out to McLeod and the confirmed the same if coolant did get on the disc it would need to be replaced. The current plan is to you a Gates Power Grip instead of the clamp to prevent future leaks, pull the trans and ship the clutch to Mcleod for a rebuild and an upgrade to an RXT, it...
  16. Injector Upgrade Gen 5 Whipple

Thanks, sucks I'll have to drain the coolant to fix it, but at least I'll feel more confident than the hose clamp.
  17. Injector Upgrade Gen 5 Whipple

I already have that straight fitting you referenced ( Dorman 800-411 ), it came with the Whipple. If I'm reading your post correctly, where I used the hose clamp in my picture, you used a Gates power grip?
  18. Injector Upgrade Gen 5 Whipple

Whatever came of this? I was looking at the Motion Raceworks to fix the setup on my whipple from leaking
  19. Clutch issues with a coolant leak

I found the leak. It was a front passenger heater hose; the clamp was loose, so I tightened it up. Coolant was leaking from this hose into the valley of the engine and going through a hole at the back of the valley into the bell housing. Now I'm wondering what the next steps might be. My...
