Sadly I think it's just basic maths (or math depending on which side of the pond you're on ;-) 8000 cars needing a new wheel... Let's say it takes 30 mins to do it including disconnecting battery, etc... So one person can do at most 20 in a working day. So that's 400 person-days... 5-day...
Good luck - I really hope your car arrives soon and you can start enjoying it.
Only thing to add is the cars I'm talking about aren't secondhand - they're brand new, unregistered cars bought as dealer stock (I wouldn't want a secondhand one either!) And as for scratches - my cars are always...
All cars look better with a black roof, that's why you should only buy convertibles :sunglasses:
Seriously, some cars just look wrong with a body colour roof. 90s Camaros are a great example: body colour roof just looks wrong, black looks cool (OK, I'm biased 'cos I had a Rally Red Z/28 with a...
Ah, yes - the fun of working out how much a car would cost if you bought all the bits separately :)
If you look at the price of replacement wheels, the forged alloys are about £450 more than the standard black alloys...so about £1800 extra for a set....but if you spec forged alloys as an option...
Or just relax and see the benefits: it's a sunny day, so (top-down) lower speeds mean more time to top up my tan and enjoy a bit of V8 music; and if it means the cretins who drive past my house in a 30mph limit at 60mph can't do it any more then even better. Sadly not everyone uses their brain...
I understand exactly what you mean. However, what I would say (and I don't know the French equivalent phrase!) is that "a bird (or maybe that should be a pony) in the hand is worth two in the bush" - if I have a car that I'm happy with, I don't care what happens to the one I actually ordered...
I gave up on my factory order last week due to steering-wheel-hell and am now getting a dealer-stock car (unregistered, same spec, different colour). With the benefit of hindsight, I'd never do a factory order again. If I'd done more research with the dealer when I placed my order (or even...
I live in Kent, between Sevenoaks and West Malling. Buying my car from Trustford Dagenham, and my nearest Fordstore is Haynes in Maidstone. Anybody in the same neck of the woods have any recommendations of good (or warnings of bad!) local dealers for servicing, warranty work, etc?
Really is a lottery, especially with the steering wheel fiasco, but good that some cars are on their way! As for the long trip from Liverpool, I wonder if Mustang's are delivered by horse-drawn transporter? (Even the dealer-to-dealer transfer for my replacement can take "up to 3 weeks"!)
For those of you old enough to remember TCR and the "jam car"... Even if we have cars without limiters, it only takes a surprisingly small number of cars driving at the speed limit to make it almost impossible for us to exceed it. So even more need to drive either early in the morning, late at...
Great colour - such a shame Lightning Blue isn't available any more (Velocity is just too light). Looking forward to my Ruby Red arriving in the next couple of weeks so I can finally get a photo on here!
There was a good point from the AA that it will make many drivers even more likely to think they're safe if they stick to the limit(er) rather than applying judgement...and the insurance companies will be happy with them too...even though the average de-restricted country lane around where I...
As long as it can be overridden it's not the end of the world... And the reality is there are already speed-limiters - the muppets who drive in the middle and overtaking lanes of motorways at 70 mph! Doing 100 miles on the M3 and M25 on Monday with little traffic I spent most of the time stuck...
Weirdly it mentions neither - just says 12-speaker stereo... Dealer's asked around and nobody's ever seen a 2019 without B&O, but checking with the supplying dealer. And it's definitely a 2019 (as per window sticker and being a "K" car rather than a "J" car).
Thanks - happy with the deal (and even happier that I'll be in the car soon!). It's an auto so rev-matching doesn't figure, and dealer stated it has B&O...but I've asked him to double-check in case he was assuming as it's an MDT! (Etis info is identical but window sticker doesn't specifically...
You've probably thought of this already...but if you haven't been in a Mustang with Recaros, they're a pain in the butt when you want to access the rear (based on a test drive) - get the tilt and slide in the wrong order and it just doesn't work. I'm sure you'll be fine with it, but your missus...
Problem solved. Dealer has sourced an identical spec car (apart from the colour) from another main dealer - should take delivery in a couple of weeks. And someone else, at some indeterminate point in the future, will get my "old" Ingot Silver car...
