I see thanks. I thought i remembered the first gen 3.5 weighing less than the 5.0 in the f150s, but the engine package could be different in the mustang 5.0, especially since that was back in 2011-2014 And i may be misremembering completely.

No for the GT500, but a 3.5 HO engine in a Mustang with another badge would be just fine, with a price tag close to a GT. What are the weight comparisons to a 5.0? I think the 450 HP 3.5 would be fun if they decide to do it. Do not call it a GT or GT500. Just another option.

If they only sell one transmission, like they have forever with the halo cars, i agree it should be the best performing. And that's going to be the dtc. I love manuals by the way, but i agree with that decision if it is made. Like E said ^^

Exactly. If it's a disappointment for the gt500, it is for the zl1 as well, since they are the same class of car. Personally i believe it will beat a zl1 around a track, which is going to be the top direct competitor.

That's pretty hard to say without seeing what track model the gt500 is even bringing out. If there is a gt500r or gt500kr, i doubt that the zl1 1le will obliterate it, and if so then Ford really didn't do their job well. I do, however, doubt it. It will be close at the very least i bet.

Exactly. People will say i have 797 hp, its the fastest car out there! As they get beat by one with less horsepower. I've seen it on the strip multiple times, we all have. I'd rather have the better car.

Yeah it should not have a problem with a BMW 8. 0-60 will be traction limited for sure, but in absolute performance the GT500 should walk all over the Bimmer.

I believe this story. I kept up with a 98 supercharged (plus other mods) cobra with my stock 1992 thunderbird super coupe through the eighth mile. Right next to me the whole way spinning badly. His car was clearly faster, but spinning will make you lose to much slower cars. This was many years...

From a roll I'd put money on the stang. From a dig, driver will make a huge difference. With a good driver, still the stang.
