Not to antagonize the OP, but rather adding info:
When my 2016 5.0 was three days old I ran over a wheel weight [!!] and it punctured the left rear tire. I pulled over, rotated the LF to the LR (so I wouldn't destroy the differential on the way to the dealership) and put the spare on the LF...
As has been said- 275 or wider tires all the way around and full suspension. You'll be able to out corner your bavarian friend.
I'm on 275/35-20 555G2 square and full Ridetech/UPR suspension. It corners far better than stock.
Hold the button AND the brake pedal down until it says advancetrac off.
It'll let you burn em all day long in a straight line, but if you try to do donuts, it'll still kick on. At least the 2011-14s did.
Only way to fully disable the system on 2011-14 cars was to reach behind the wheel and...
5-6* above ambient in city driving as soon as I leave my neighborhood, 2-3* on the highway, and 1* above when I squeeze into the throttle from a highway roll. That's what my car does. YMMV
[PMAS CAI, Cervini's Upper & Lower Grille]
When I lowered my car (actually slammed it on coilovers) one side had more camber than the other- About half a degree difference. I'm not sure why, but I can tell you that the camber will make a bigger difference in the poke or tuck than you would think.
If this was my car, I'd shoot for...
This is what's bad about the internet- you never know who you're talking to, or what their background is. Often times, the person who talks the loudest is interpreted as the person who is right. I've been married for 14 years, so I don't even try to convince anyone I'm right anymore. :D...
I'll bet your buddy's car is lowered and has a couple degrees of negative camber... You can add negative camber easily, but you'll sacrifice some traction and the tires will wear faster.
I'm in South Florida and my IATs cool off quickly once the car gets moving. And I'm talking about creeping along in a 35mph zone. PMAS is working well here!
I had the stock airbox and stock tune.
Personally, I suspect that you'll still feel a difference because I the PMAS system has more surface area on the filter, larger diameter sensor tube (with smooth transitions) and a well designed elbow.
Even if you don't feel the extra power, I'm sure...
Hard to say if it's the placebo effect, but my car felt like it might have been a little more crisp on tip in throttle at low speeds, low rpms. Either way, I can personally assure you that it does NOT cause any idle or drivability issues. (I'm on the stock tune, running the PMAS No Tune CAI)
dev1360 - THANK YOU for posting your results! I ordered the PMAS CAI for my '16 5.0 and I'm quite pleased with it.
I'm seeing IATs within 5-6* of ambient in the city, which is exactly where I was at with the stock airbox. (full disclosure: I'm running Cervini's grilles, but again, same IATs...
Pathetic suspension?
I think Ford hit a home run with the S550s. I bought a base 2016 5.0 (because I'm poor) and I'm amazed at what I got for $30k. I've been wrenching on Mustangs since the 80s, and this platform is light years ahead of the past generations.
Yes, my car was a bit too soft...
I run what works, and 15 years of experience using PMAS on my personal vehicles have taught me that your parts work well. Thanks again for such a great part!
Not interested in dynoing the car, but dev1360's tests should satisfy those who are curious about this PMAS kit.
Not yet. The...
Installed my PMAS No Tune Required CAI today. Installation was simple- roughly 45 minutes including a cold Diet Pepsi break and phone call from my man Josh at Ridetech. Initial impression is very positive! As we've come to expect from years of experience with PMAS, the parts quality is...
