Can't wait to see the results
This must mean you've been dynoing the car, right?
Any chance you could post some numbers and/or a video of the beast? I haven't seen one yet and I'd love to watch/listen!
And when the EB has better performance than almost all regular production (non-SVT, Shelby, etc.) mustangs I think it makes it's case for value.
The GT mpg is still pretty impressive IMHO
Don't be so pessimistic man!
The mustang with a bigger engine, more power, and being heavier (by a few hundred pounds) is getting close to the same MPG as the focus st, golf GTI, or Genesis Coupe Turbo.
The Genesis is actually a great comparison because it has a similar weight...
Read the Included On This Vehicle Again...this has PP and the 50th package among other upgrades
This is right around what I expected. Real world MPG on a base model will probably be 2-3 mpg better!
Mazda is a pretty sophisticated group, Ford has learned a great deal over the years by working with Mazda engineers.
That said, the MS3 turbo was a limiting factor on that car (although swapping to a bigger one was easy and the engine could take a ton more boost).
This turbo is going to...
The MS3 is a low 14 second car. Pretty darn fast!
All you have to do is go look at the current v6 mustang to get a feel for how the EB will run.
Stock 3.7l mustangs have run between 14-14.4 seconds pretty regularly (you can find a 13.75 on youtube, but I think it was on drag...
Well see how that goes, I'm actually excited for the new m3, but I think the beast that once was becomes more tame each generation.
I meant apples to apples in that the SVT will be priced more fairly with the M3...the GT costs half what a new M3 does. That's the best part!
The old saying "hp sells cars, torque wins races" comes to mind.
Don't forget that the 2011 gen gt went up against a 2011 m3 at leguna seca (motortrend test) and ran less than 1/10th of a second slower. That was without IRS and -15hp (not to mention less torque).
The new chassis...
