Welp, didn't want to do this initially but going to entertain the idea. If you visit my build thread, I had set out to do something unique...go fast on air ride. The build has evolved to just going fast, period. Plus the components are taking up trunk space room that I could use for my air to...
Went ahead and ordered the wrap material last night. I was set on using Avery satin black from day one to give the car an overall "sinister" look, but did a 180 on that decision at the last minute.
I wanted something that stuck out, but not as flashy as the psychedelic silver that's currently...
Lol! That's too funny. I actually didn't even know...I saw some random, super small channel do it on YT. That's actually a hell of a difference for such a small change IMO.
Just fitted up. I kept the lip on the bottom to keep the body line from the sides and to keep the contrast when I rewrap it. Little area where paint doesnāt match but Iāll probably just correct it on the car alongside removing the charcoal canister and painting that metal area under the trunk...
Aha! I had some cracking of the paint in one spot, I actually just got finished putting a coat of paint on it. I'm a tad on the OCD side :P
I've got an appointment here in a bit but Im hoping tonight to have the parachute drilled for and the bumper back on. I'll post up when I'm finished for...
Well, this project started as kind of a "budget" 1300whp build, and has gone off the deep end. Ordered some small pieces over the last few days...mirror block off plates, Watson center stay delete, firewall pass through, billet IRS subframe brace and alignment bushing, viton valve seals, carbon...
The dash saves 70 lbs. You go through the normal protocol with a stock engine and trans and youāre looking at maybe 3100, 3000 tops, from a 3700-3800 stock curb weight. Thereās more to it.
Itās also actually a carbon fiber dash. Stock windows and Iām pretty certain windshields as well. Could be...
Brand new part runs $500 with a 6-10 week lead time (see: https://www.steeda.com/anderson-ac-tg15fdmu-s550-decklid). This piece looks like it literally just came out of the box. Weave is perfect and zero dings, knicks or scratches. Save $150 and 6-10 weeks; $350 shipped WITH insurance. No longer...
Not only that but I bet for something like a track car, steering response and feedback from the car would be awesome. Thats almost as light as my first little honda :cwl:
2720, and I believe truck scales tend to weigh a bit high. Besides the interior, nothing looks crazy about the car in regards to reduction. Any guesses on how? He doesn't reveal what was involved and Im jealous :cwl:
I know the basics...probably carbon doors, obvious carbon trunk, manual, base...
Have gotten less finished the last few days than I wanted to. Stripped the car down pretty quick but have been tied up with work, making decisions on the build and waiting parts the last week. Yesterday I got around to finishing the K member, installing the line lock, and front brakes. For...
The coyote IMO is a well built engine. If there is a slightly higher failure rate, I'd really like to see that scaled to driver habits. I'm guessing more guys are banging GT's than Porsche's on a daily basis. I owned a GT4 for a while and I reemed it lmao, but 99.9% of all the Porsche's rolling...
Guess I had some foreshadowing...ordered the gt500 covers a few days before this :cwl: Thanks for the heads up man, sounds like I would have run into the same isssue.
