I disagree!
I think it is time and consideration that is making this car what it is turning out to be. The parts are cool and all, but the execution of synergy of all those capabilities is the key in this vehicle!
The GT500 was, from what can be gathered, delayed from when it was originally...
You bring up an interesting point... as much as I want to see a '20 GT500 vs '20 ZL1 1LE (A10) (by the way "GT500 vs ZL1 1LE" sounds like a printer cartridge part number of a laptop serial number), I think a more interesting comparison would be '20 GT500 vs '19 ZR1!
Considering the C7 ZR1...
My money is that you'll find out two things shortly after the GT500 media embargo is lifted: 1. how the GT500 stacks up and 2. when GT350 will end.
If you look back to the Boss, that car and the GT500 existed for one MY as well.
Honestly, I believe that the GT350 was only kept around as long...
Since no one here probably knows when GM started development of their FPC, you simply cannot claim: “GM is just copying Ford” or “GM is just following Ford”.
The C8 is roughly stated to have been in development for 6 years. More than likely, the engine was in development before that. The...
I’d like to see someone take temp data on track. I never did this with my old Mustang, but I did after several summer daily drives. I saw around 220F case temperatures across various spots on the bottom of the trans (not near the converters).
I ran Redline MTL and never had an issue (around 40k...
My $0.02 on your situation:
You are new to manuals and new to performance driving. Only you can decide your interest level, as of right now, and no one knows what your interest level will be down the road... Will you love taking your car to the track or decide it isn't really for you? Will you...
OK. “Pressure differential” at the intake tube and clean side hose junction. There has to be pressure differential for flow to occur. Maybe vacuum was a bad term to use.
I will agree with that thought.
Lol.
I'm trying to illustrate what the small ID hose of the JLT catch can is doing vs the larger/to-OE-design one of the FP catch can. You can't just throw a hose on, regardless of size, and have it work properly.
The smaller ID hose is likely pulling a higher and quicker vacuum at the inside...
5.26 lb/HP compared to 6.86 lb/HP (GT500/C8)
6.40 lb/Trq compared to 7.23 lb/Trq (GT500/C8)
Power isn't everything, especially when you have [potentially] more trouble translating it into acceleration (weight transfer and static weight balance). What can be done with MRC, TC, ABS and e-LSD is...
You have a glass full of Coke in front of you. To drink it, you have two straws: one small diameter and one large diameter. Catch is, you can’t dip the straw into the Coke, you can only let the straw get within a few MM of the surface of the Coke.
Which straw is going to allow you to “suction”...
No comparison is good enough for Team “x” unless it’s the one that supports Team “x”, than nothing can fudge that comparison - any and all arguments against it are no longer valid; any and all arguments for it are the only ones valid.
SS 1LE has the same cooling systems as the SS. The ZL1 is nearly the same, also.
Oil cooler is liquid-liquid, tied to the cooling system. Thing is, the cooling system on the Camaro is very large in capacity (large, center radiator and two aux units, one at each side of the front fascia). Oil...
Agreed. STP should’ve been rolled out before CAM was even mentioned!
I knew STP was coming when I went to CAM, and held off some mods on my car for it, but left that in the dust quickly (which was common with many other autox Stangers at the time I knew).
Pretty much this, right here...
You have to sell to the casual autoxer and the serious.
A lot... a LOT of casual pony car autoxers want to do their typical bolt ons (which 99.999% of the time push them ever so slightly out of FS or ST”x”), run street tires and want to run in a class not full...
Good luck. I’ve seen zero PP2 cars at a track event or autox since they’ve been out. Seen them on the road...
Still, it’d have to be same driver in both. Two different drivers - different skill and perception levels.
