Really?? All it needs is the rear camera signal to begin the feed? So if you provided the correct signal, you could patch through any feed you wanted? That's an interesting thought!
Is the only thing you used the 8" screen? Didn't require the premium module? I found this on eBay...
Regarding issue 4:
Are you sure the backup camera will work with just swapping a couple pins? If the unit thinks the car is always in drive, will it know to turn on the camera feed when you put it in reverse?
If this turns out to be a viable option, I bet we could find 10 people to purchase together for the bulk discount. Of course, we need to verify that this exists and works as it should.
The tolerances of the printing should be quite small compared to the scale of the part. Therefore, its possible to make the leading edge of the part quite sharp to minimize the appearance of a stick on part. What are your thoughts on this? Are you planning on modeling the leading edge down to...
The sellers may not know enough English to respond very quickly or sufficiently.
Regardless, it seems like the most viable and economical option may be to put together one of the so called "car pc's". Mounting the screen in front of, or in place of the current sync interface. I'm not sure how...
I just did a quick search and was a little overwhelmed by all the options. I only thought Mouser off the top of my head, but there must be somewhere that you could find generic wiring harnesses. Maybe somewhere that does circuit board printing.
I think I see where you're heading with this... It might just be a matter of counting the number of connections and looking on Mouser or the like for a wiring harness that would work...
I'm curious regarding how well the material would hold up in the elements and under the strain of driving, etc. Also, how are you planning on cadding up the curve of the fender?
I've seen the results of the acetone vapor bath at room temperature. I'm not sure if this was the same material you went with, but it makes it super smooth and glossy if you do it right with the right amount of time.
They soaked some paper towels with acetone and put the paper towel and the...
My reasoning is if the car was black the matte would provide a nice contrast. But, with magnetic I think the gloss black looks more finished. Matte black on magnetic looks a bit like electrical tape to me.
I just replaced my rear p zeros with these. I'm definitely happy with the purchase. I haven't noticed any degradation in the ride quality. And they have plenty of grip
Since I did the install myself, I didn't want to spend a ton on the stripes. So, I didn't go with big worm. These were the 10" stripes from www.vinylstripes.com . I'm glad I went this route since I messed up a couple pieces.
These were just generic 10" stripes. Super affordable, so I could take the risk of installing them myself. Spent a total of about 5 hours to do. I goofed a couple times, and they are not perfect, but I'm extremely happy with the end result.
I was pretty shocked when I noticed how bare my rear pirellis were at 8900 miles. How long should the Michelin pss last? I'm considering sacrificing a bit of performance for some longevity. Any suggestions? I'm leaning toward the Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric.
