Ordered mine in late January, just got it yesterday, a day shy of 10 weeks. By all means make sure you get a VIN from the dealership, and read the COTUS Checker thread to start having updates emailed to you.
The story gets weirder. So I signed all the paperwork yesterday (3.49% at 63 months). Today the financing guy calls me back and says he can get me 2.89% at the same credit union and that my sales guy forgot $750 in private cash that I didnāt know about. So they want to redo all the paperwork...
Happy to report I have my new ā18 at home in the garage (itās snowing here today). Will post pics when I get a nice day.
It pays to pester your dealer. They told me I wouldnāt have gotten it until next week but they called in a favor to the transport company to get it sooner. I bought my...
My status is now DELIVERED! I think Iām suddenly not feeling well and need to take the afternoon off from work! My 48th birthday was yesterday, but this is an acceptable late present!
Same here-my sales guy says the car is in Omaha and just needs to be brought ~20 miles down to the dealership. So close...
Oh, and itās supposed to snow Friday. So maybe the EDD for next week isnāt so bad!
If they could take pictures of the cars as they pass through various stops in the factory line, and store them based on VIN, such that the consumer could see the build in progress, that would be cool.
My dealer says that my car is still in Indiana, eight days after going to āin transitā. I was hoping for better news, given the speed others have reported for their cars to be shipped to more distant locations. I hate the uncertainty of this whole process.
The last thing Iād do is tell them āno, please delay my orderā. Just because this whole order process has so much uncertainty.
I would expect a dealership would hold it for you up to a point, but how long they would is a good question, especially if you asked for them to not leave it...
You can download the ownerās manual and āread aheadā. There are some curious things in there, such as the secret key slot, and what sounds like a bunch of programmable options.
āQuiet Hoursā will be one Iāll definitely use; thereās a guy three houses down with a Challenger and itās obvious...
Congrats!
You didn't go for orange, living in Knoxville? :) I wonder if sales of orange are significantly higher in east Tennessee.
I have to tell people here that Race Red is NOT "Husker Red"!
My region's first autocross event is April 8; I hope it arrives on April 7 or before... my sales guy is aware of my schedule (and is a fellow Mustang owner I might add) and I trust he'll do what he can.
Bonus points if it arrived even earlier on April 4, which is my birthday. That would be a...
