  1. California plate 'Flippers' beware!

Like anywhere else, California has it's good and bad aspects. I moved here in '87, and it would take a lot to make me move. I really like the area where I live, as I have access to beaches in about 15 minutes, access to larger city things like sports and concerts, but am only about 20 minutes...
  2. Did you get any Mustang stuff for Christmas?

I didn't exactly get anything, but I did find this file and print it on my 3D printer...
  3. Selling my 350

Very true - there's something to be said for having a car that you've been the only or primary owner of, and know its condition, than taking a risk and buying something later that has an unknown history.

  5. 10 Speed Owners... please talk to me...

It's the classic manual vs. auto discussion, and for the most part it's just personal preference at this point. I had a manual '14 Mustang that had a version of the MT-82, and it was known for locking out shifts from time to time (it's been a while, so I can't recall the specifics now), so it's...
  6. 10 Speed Owners... please talk to me...

My experience is very much like the last few posts. It was always silky smooth in Normal, but 4-5 in particular in Sport+ would be really harsh, almost unsettling the car if there was any curve on the road. After the Ford tune, there's a bump on that shift, but nothing like it was before. I...

I also found that in lower gears, when accelerating harder, it responded to manual shifts quickly, and also while down-shifting, but as I approached the top speed I wanted to hit, and began lifting on the throttle, the upshifts were less responsive. Because my speed was stabilizing at that...
  8. 10 Speed Owners... please talk to me...

That's interesting to hear because I had noticed slow upshifts while using the paddles, and noted that it was as I was easing off the throttle, and wondered if that was intentional. I hadn't heard any official statement to that effect, but it seemed like a logical possibility, though I am not...
  9. 10 Speed Owners... please talk to me...

That's been my experience as well, for the most part. In Normal mode it was always very smooth, where I couldn't even tell that it shifted half the time. Sport/Sport+/Track had some really hard shifts from 4th to 5th and even 5th to 6th until I had the Ford tune applied. Now that shift is...
  10. 10 Speed Owners... please talk to me...

My apologies for not having read all of the posts in this topic before responding, so I don't know if it's been discussed, but I highly recommend Ford Racing's (formerly Ford Performance) tune for the A10. Mine was pretty good before, with very smooth shifts in normal, but had some harsh shifts...
  11. Ford Performance Tune for 2018+ GT

I just had this installed yesterday, and I haven't had a chance to drive it much yet, but so far, I like it. The biggest change to me is the auto transmission shifting. There might have been a way to tweak it without this upgrade, but this has definitely smoothed it out.
  12. Should I pay off after getting laid off?

I'm in the don't-pay-it-off category. Again, having the money to spend seems safer than spending it and not having it, and as has been pointed out, paying a 0% loan off early saves you no money. However, not that this will take a long time, but typically, due to inflation, future money is...
  13. Bought My First Ever Mustang

Very nice! Congrats, and welcome to the world of Mustangs!
  14. 10R80 Smoother Shifting Update (TSB 24-2101)

Thanks for the tip! I'm looking at getting the Ford Performance tune, and I wonder how this compares. Mine's silky smooth in normal mode, but rough in Sport/Sport +, and I just assumed that's the way it was supposed to be, so I'd put it in manual if I wanted to make sure it didn't do a hard...
  15. The more I see the S650s, the more I know I've had my last Mustang for the foreseeable future

Strangely, I think the current Mazda CX-5, and perhaps other Mazdas, don't have touchscreens and require the use of a knob/joystick to control them. I have an older CX-5, and it does have a small touch screen, but the touch screen is disabled while moving, and you have to use the joystick...
  16. The more I see the S650s, the more I know I've had my last Mustang for the foreseeable future

Looks are always subjective, so it's up to each person to decide what they like or don't. Technically, I guess everything is subjective, but I think looks are more in that category. My biggest issues with the new ones are price, and electronics. Not only the dash, but all of the other...
  17. S550 diecast collectibles

Not die cast, but still a Mustang in miniature - I saw this at the local hobby store, and I guess they came out about a year ago, but that is the first I'd seen of them. A downside is that all the lights, and even the grille, are stickers. An upside is that with the lights and things being...
  18. Opinions on S197.2 from former owners

I'm a little late on this one, but I had a '14 GT Premium with the Brembo package and Recaros, with the MT-82, and I really enjoyed it. I didn't have a lot of issues with the transmission, but it did seem a little finicky at times. I'll also say that the interior is a definite step up in my...
  19. 2023 Mustang Build & Price finally online

Yeah, I priced out a car similar to my 2018, which I thought was pretty well optioned, and the new one is $7000-$8000 more than the MSRP that mine was. I was able to knock off an additional $5000 from that, which I think is unlikely in the current market.
