Incredibly within an hour of posting my question above my status was updated. Has a blend date of 7/02, which is next Friday. Starting to look like things are happening.
The F-150 outsells the Mustang by a 10-1 ratio. The little bit of chips they would save by not producing the remaining model year will not make or break the F-150 production.
It was reported that whatever materials they have will be used at another plant. It’s not that they don’t have them. It is reported that instead of using the limited materials they do have to build cars that they already agreed to build. They will a lot them for future orders of a better profit...
I’m highly skeptical on this news being accurate. The publicity for Ford would be horrible and damaging. It would be akin to your builder saying “ Yah I know I have a contract to build your addition but I’m going to take the materials for your job and use them on a job I have across town. Oh and...
Well I ordered same day as you did. Last email I got was on 5/13 saying it was going to be built week of 6/28. Haven’t heard anything different so I assume that is still accurate. However my status sits at “scheduled for production” same as it was on 5/13.
Mike, evidently a priority code of 01 doesnt mean much if you order on 3/22/21 and people that ordered several weeks after you are already "in production". Id like to hear that explained.
Seems to be no rhyme or reason to build dates. One would think next ordered next served. But doesnt go like that. Im wondering if it goes but what options/etc one orders.
To me it makes sense to paint 50 red cars in a row rather than switching colors for every other car. I realize the painting...
The X plan is not all its cracked up to be. Through my employer I am offered that plan with several automotive manufacturers. Last two new cars i bought I was able to negotiate a better deal on my own. If I would have used that plan to buy the Mustang I currently have on order I would have paid...
I believe that ship has sailed. All negotiation needed to be done before ordering. Seeing as how they are in short supply dont think they will have a hard time finding someone else to buy the car you ordered if you no longer want to pay the price you already agreed to. Good luck with that !!!
When I ordered I was told the cut off for the 2021 model was April 15th. Obviously that was not correct and at the time I recall thinking April 15th was awfully early. Would think it would be coming soon and possibly early July.
Ive never known American auto manufacturers to produce a particulal...
Based on your explanation of your trade in deal I would say the dealer was correct. You would have been voiding the agree upon deal. Just as you could not demand more money for your trade in after you agreed to a certain price the seller cannot demand more money than agreed on at time of ordering.
What I am saying is neither will get screwed. Just as dealer must honor price at signing of contract Ford must honor price to dealer at time of placing order to Ford.
So if the contract/order form/ etc. Says that the price you shall pay is 2% below invoice price and it doesnt have any numbers on it then in that case I guess you are screwed but if it states 2% below invoice and has an invoice price stated on that document then you get whatever 2% below...
