As I'm finalizing the RAV buyback for my car, I've been going through my old service records in order to ensure that the mileage being used by Ford in order to determine when the issue with my car first started is accurate (it wasn't and has been changed after I brought it to their attention)...
Had the 5.0 tick, two Ford dealers straight up refused to help me, third Ford dealership found metal pieces in cylinder heads/scorring/pitting of cam, fixed it after two months in the shop, tick came back, currently finalizing a lemon buyback through Ford RAV.
or if we're joking: being called a...
I'm not sure what your current mods are, but the main reason to get rid of the OEM driveshaft is if you are planning to go with FI with a lot of torque. Also, it doesn't really matter too much if you don't plan on going to the strip, as HOOKING with a lot of torque is where the issue comes from...
I'm not sure the weight difference between those two, but GENERALLY (again, you will see it through google) a DCT is heavier than a "standard" auto (again, many more parts)
I just had surgery to repair a ripped tendon in my right arm, so typing all of that was already a bitch. Clearly you are being an ass for the sake of being an ass. so, here are a few links:
BMW M5 (i would never own a bimmer but they are known to have a great DCT)...
Im not doing the research for you, it's called Google. And by really high I mean anything 50-100+ over OEM torque numbers. It's a known mechanical fact that DCTs are much more fragile (and obviously difficult and expensive to fix) than auto and manual transmissions. Wether you believe me or not...
I think that the DCT will actually prevent any truly amazing gains. DCTs are usually pretty "fragile" when compared to standard autos, and don't do well with really high TQ numbers. Maybe Tremec found a way around this, but according to their site, their DCT is rated for "only" 663lb-ft. Yet...
Roush axle backs ARE loud (had them on my '14). Not much will be as loud as straight pipes, but thats generally a good thing, as those tend to be obnoxiously loud for the sake of being loud, while IMO sounding like crap under throttle. That said, the OEM catbacks on the 15-17s are ridiculously...
Loud as possible without going with catless LTHs and straight pipes or dumps? Corsa xtreme catback is your best bet. Or Borla Ataks catback for a "lower" tone. There may be other "louder" combos or systems out there, but these are PLENTY loud with the added bonus of having 0 drone (which many...
What supercharger did they use? And i'm sure we will unfortunately see plenty of these wrecked. I'm willing to bet most people that will rent these cars probably wouldn't even be able to handle a "basic" 5.0. 600+ hp in the hands of someone who's used to driving a Versa (just an example) is no...
No, not without serious trimming/modifying, to a point where its not worth it. similar looking yes, but still different dimensions. Plenty of aftermarket grilles out there that are meant for 18+ front bumpers.
That's a pretty good trade in value after a year! Crazy that there was almost no depreciation actually. And I completely understand wanting to get the plum purple, haha. Only time I will EVER like purple on a car (aside from old school muscle like a Hemi 'Cuda:rockon:)
Don't get me wrong, I...
Agreed. Hence why my cross shopping never even involved Dodge. People aren't joking when they say that they handle like boats/yachts. Straight line pulls are fun, but nothing beats a good (and safe) canyon carving run (outside of having a blast at the track of course). Hence why I'm going with...
Yikes. Thanks for the heads-up. I assumed that the headache was far from over. And thank you for the advice. I usually do keep notes of most important phone calls, as I've been burned too many times in the past. Although I'm not sure how much use getting their info may be in the end. The person...
Thanks for the info, and will do. I've read most of your comments on these lemon-law posts and I definitely appreciate your insight into the matter, as this is my first time ever having to do something like this.
I don't have any loans to worry about, so hopefully that will speed up the...
Officially received my letter from RAV HQ yesterday confirming that they approved the buyback of my car. Took exactly a week from the phone-call to receiving the letter. I was honestly surprised. I'm sure that the process isn't over yet and the "fun" has yet to come, but I was expecting a fight...
Another one for Steeda + FRPP Dampers, although I went with the Ultralite Linear Springs. Ride quality is just a tad bit more harsh than the OEM PP springs, but nothing brutal by any means. The drop is enough to give quite a difference in the looks department, and the handling is also great...
