+1. I posted in other thread as well. I had my engine replaced recently and asked for this OPG part to be installed. I would have thought since it was Ford Performance it would go right in. They said not to do it bc it could void warranty if engine nuked again.
This is what I have heard as well. I know someone that got the SRP pedals and the spacer and worked well on the street. When tracking it actually hindered him bc he would accidentaly hit the gas pedal when he didn’t want to. He told
me to try without spacer first. I just put in medium SRPs...
Yea, no sense in worrying about it. Maybe one day a credible person will leak what the issue is.....
Yep. The good news is Ford is quick to respond and replace. I have not heard of any pushback. Drive with confidence. Oh....and drive it like you stole it at the track!

Thanks for taking the time to write this and track the data. I posted a few weeks ago about my engine failure - so I am part of the data. Engine out and a new one in over a weeks time. I am hopeful #2 has the fix. I will keep everyone informed. It would be very interesting to have a thread on...
I agree - I think the point is most of the failures (if not all) are attributed to an engine defect or assembly error IMO. I did all the right things on break in, oil changes, etc and it still nuked. Hopefully my second engine is solid :)
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I would assume break in has no bearing on whether the engine is going to nuke. It is more about sealing the rings and oil consumption. Meaning if an OPG is going to fail, it is going to fail no matter what. The other interesting thing you posted is this...
Interesting comments. When my engine blew they called Ford on an Monday, engine arrived Wednesday and car was complete that Friday. Entire process was only 1 week. Kudos to my dealer or maybe just good timing. This was a few weeks ago when it happened.
FYI - I am a member. If you ever want to come out on member day send me your contact at [email protected] or you can always call me at 214.415.5180. I have to break in my engine again so it will be about a month before I head back out. Also, a great FB group to join is Track Shelby 350 at...
Hi Bob - its Tony Lisotta with the 350R - Black with White Stripe. We met a few times at MSR. Engine blew a few weeks ago and they put a new one in. Hope to see ya out there again soon once I complete break in.
If it is knocking sound I would have the dealer look at it. That could be a precursor to engine failure according to my mechanic. I am no expert - just passing on a comment he made about hearing pistons knocks like you describe may be something to check on
They didn't ask but I don't think it matters. Ford is not asking many questions from what I understand. My car has a Watson roll bar, Camber Plates, and Harness. It is only driven at the track.
