Mine was like a light switch at 50mph, then off at 70mph. I noticed it, then searched for others with the problem. It's not as smooth and numb as the Fusion I had as a rental, but with 19" tires I wasn't expecting that from the beginning.
Ford was pretty focused on the differential and...
Just got back my car on Friday after a new driveshaft and new complete differential was put in, It feels good so far. I only put about 75 miles on it and the only feeling I get is from the road now. I really won't know if it's fixed until the spring, but the drive home was good.
I'm one driveshaft behind you, but agree with that there should be a repair for this defect. My dealer doesn't know what to do and is waiting for Ford for the next step. I'm sure Ford is trying to isolate the defective part/parts, or combination of parts causing the issue, but it's not affecting...
I agree, the dealer just rebuilt my differential and put in a driveshaft today. They are going to call tomorrow and tell me it still vibrates.....that's my guess. It just baffles me they won't just fix this problem.
I'm not sure why they went that route. According the the procedure they should have checked the tires first, then indexed the driveshaft, but they skipped over the tires, indexed the driveshaft, then rebuilt the differential, and then now are going to replace the driveshaft. Maybe they have...
Just received a call from the dealer and the rebuilt differential didn't solve the problem. They have ordered a driveshaft and will try that next. Sounds like a familiar story....
I've owned this car for just over 2 months and it's been at the dealer for almost a month total now...
How is the E30 tune in this cold MN weather? Not that I'm going to be driving my car in the winter, it's just those months leading up to winter and early spring that I'm wondering about.
Thanks,
John
Well I may not win, but my car will have Velgens on it. Whether the Classic 5 or VMB9s I'm not sure. How about some t-shirts, license plate frames, or stickers for those who don't win?
I can say after driving it a few days, it's not completely gone. I'd say 95% gone, but now I feel it in the gas pedal. Maybe it was there before and I just didn't feel it? Going back in this Friday.
Just recently bought this 2016 with performance pack Ecoboost. It's a family fun car that my wife likes, which is helpful, and the kids love it too. It really needs some lowering springs and some new wheels. Love the Velgen wheels!
