Okay, I have not had time to read the whole thread, so please forgive me if this has already been addressed.
What is the final production weight of these wheels compared to the stock R wheels?
The only real disadvantage to running race pads on the street is you'll wear out the pads and rotors a bit quicker since they're intended to be used at a higher operating temperature. Most race pads will still stop great cold, but the wear will be accelerated. So for those that do a ton of...
I've spoken to Raybestos, and they will only make pads if they have a template to work off of. So if anyone has a template regarding dimensions and sizing for the OEM pads, please let me know. The other option is to send some stock pads to them so they can cut the right sizes. If you find...
My comments are based solely on my personal experience. I've used carbotechs, and compared to many other race pad offerings, they are pretty good. I just have better experience with PFC and Raybestos as I can get significantly more life out of them, and in my opinion, even better performance.
If you can have a race pad that works better and lasts longer, isn't that a better way to go? If you happen to love Carbotech and GLOC, and if the pads work for you, then that's great too. To each their own.
Is this true with the R as it is with the standard GT350? The R is supposed to have a more aggressive alignment from the factory, so I'm curious what Ford is doing differently if there's no adjustment.
Anthony is right on point here. For those using stock pads at the track, either they aren't driving hard enough or don't know better. Even Ford engineers don't recommend stock pads on the track unless you have at least half pad life left. Will stock pads work at the track? Absolutely. Will...
Performance Friction and Raybestos make the best race pads, period. I've had Hawks, Carbotechs, and all the other popular brands on my track cars over the years, and most of them are crap. (GLOCs are basically the same as Carbotechs from what I understand since past Carbotech employees started...
Does anyone know how much negative camber you can get out of the R model without camber plates? I've posted this before, and either no one here races these cars, or no one has ever tried to align an R.
Is this for both the standard GT350 and the R model? In other words, can someone confirm if the R can achieve more than 1 degree negative camber without aftermarket camber plates?
Yup, that's exactly what I paid too. People think that if they call 3 or 4 dealers they've done their work on trying to find an R for a good price. No, try getting on the phone and calling several hundred. For people that put in the real work, the deals are out there. Most people are just...
R 350 gt Donson, with all due respect, this car is definitely not a race car. I have an R, and it's the most docile car I have in my garage. I have higher horsepower cars, more capable track cars, and honestly driving the R is a nice smooth driving experience without any of the drama of a race...
Over the past 4 or 5 months, I called literally over 200 dealers trying to find mine. Most dealerships want $20k+ all the way up to $65k over here in CA. At the time I got so frustrated that I put a deposit down on a $20k ADM since I could not find any less for the life of me. Then during a...
