I would suggest a 3-ton jack. Personally, it's more for the size of the base and it's much more stable than a smaller lighter jack. Our cars are heavier than you think.
Wow that's a scary situation there. You are lucky you were not hurt. I myself use a 3 ton from Daytona it's a Harbor Freight jack. It cost about $150 when you get it on sale.. It's not an ideal jack for your trunk though. Do you not have a jack from factory in the trunk? I know not all cars come...
Yes I could move the driveshaft up and down and side to side. An excessive amount I thought that's what made me question it to the dealer. They never said exactly what was wrong but replaced the driveshaft assembly and no more rattle
