Illinois believes in soaking you .91 more for 93 than 87, they're also looking at raising the gas tax because all the other taxes have been raised so much they need something new to screw up.

So run 87, nobody is telling you to do different, just providing reasons why we don't.

Agreed, DI helps but they added two more knock sensors in the '18 than they had previously for good reason. Compression always plays a role but that isn't the sole reason why I won't run 87, you brought up the other reason.

I didn't touch the paddles, it got to 7800 and just stayed there. Next time I can drive it, if the rain ever stops I'm going to experiment and try each mode with paddles, without etc.

Not a stupid question at all, had I thought of it I suppose I could have. In Sport mode you can shift with paddles or it will shift itself. I've used drag mode enough to know how it should work, it just didn't shift and when I took my foot off the gas it literally was staying at 7800 rpms and...

Not over rev, stuck at 7800 rpm's in my view ain't healthy for the motor either. It seemed fine after that.

In the A10 without mag ride it firms up shifts big time, it shifts at 7800rpm and puts a chit eating grin on your face. :headbang: Unless it sticks in 1st at 7800 rpms, then you panic and wonder wtf just happened. :rant:

Looking forward to hitting the track soon, it's friggin raining during the weekends now, they're calling for it again next weekend. It's getting old.

Agreed, I would too, I'm old school so its hard to sell me on it being just fine to run 87 on a daily basis in a 12.01 motor knowing how much work the computer/sensors have to be cutting back to keep knock at bay. I'd love to be proved wrong but they did add 2 knock sensors to the 2018.

I've seen videos of Demon's and Hellcat's trying to use their line lock only for it to glitch at the drag strip. Not friggin cool. :rant: I won't be driving the car for a few days, so next time I do I'll be testing it again. I wonder how the call to service will go if it glitches again. :shrug:

I know they found a way to make it possible to run 87 junktain in a 12.01 compression motor but that means the computer/knock sensors are working hard to keep knock down to make everything happy. :crazy: If people want to save money on gas they should buy a Prius.
