  1. Camaro vs 18 Mustang H2H

The GY eagle F1 gen 3 tire on the SS1LE is a poor tire compared to the cup 2 . Just because the 2 tires maybe rated in a extreme performance summer category , its well known how much better the cup 2 is. Base Gt versus SS Gt PP1 versus 1LE PP2 versus which is now close to the GT350, no...
  2. Camaro vs 18 Mustang H2H

The issue there is the PP2 tire is a Michelin cup 2. The Camaro tire is a goodyear eagle F1 run flat that is not even close to the cup 2's superior performance. The only eagle F1 that is designed to compete with the cup 2 is on the ZL1 1LE only. A true test to at least eliminate the tire...
  3. Camaro vs 18 Mustang H2H

I agree SS1LE versus PP2 ..IF.. the 1LE had the "R" compound Eagle tire that comes on the ZL1 ILE which was designed to be competitive with the Michelin cup 2
  4. Camaro vs 18 Mustang H2H

The Camaro has goodyear eagle F1 runflats, the stang uses a much better Michelin pilot super sport or the pilot 4s which is better than the fantastic MPSS. The Camaro may have the size advantage, the Mustangs clearly has the compound advantage.
  5. Camaro vs 18 Mustang H2H

That would not be fair as the PP2 stang uses cup 2's, Camaro has the goodyear run flats (not good) versus the goodyear eagle F1 R tires that should be on the SS 1LE which are comparable to the cup 2's. That's what makes the PP1 a better comparison to the SS1LE
  6. 2018 Dyno discussion

Not so sure on that, take the same 18 460 hp Ford engine and just bump torque to 460. Same car, same gear, same trans etc wouldn't the car with more torque have a better 60ft and a better ET?
  7. 2018 Dyno discussion

There are no 10 speed autos in the SS Camaro, 10 speed in the ZL1 only, that comparison is a 8 speed auto. The 10 speed Ford trans and the 10 speed Camaro trans have almost identical gear ratios. The 10 speed auto could be good for another 1/10th in the Camaro.
  8. LMR 2018 Mustang GT Auto PP1 Dyno numbers (VIDEO W/CHART!!)

I am no engineer, but adding 15% drivetrain loss back into the rwhp of 415 seems like a simple method and 477 horsepower is more realistic to the supposed SAE 460 hp rating ford put on the motor.
  9. LMR 2018 Mustang GT Auto PP1 Dyno numbers (VIDEO W/CHART!!)

Only on GM cars in the magazines show SAE certified notations on the horsepower ratings, never seen that footnote or notation regarding any Ford ratings.
  10. Official: Stock 2018 Mustang GT Goes 12.0 In The 1/4 Mile - LMR.com

Don't forget the Ford uses a 3.55 gear with the 10 speed automatic and the Camaro uses a 2.85 gear with the 8 speed automatic. The 10 speed will be available in the SS soon along with a gear change .. At least competition between the two will now be closer for awhile.
  11. LMR 2018 Mustang GT Auto PP1 Dyno numbers (VIDEO W/CHART!!)

415 x 1.15 = 477. I doubt a automatic is more efficient than a manual, a manuals typically consume 15% . So if the automatic is as efficient, a 15% loss thru the drive train is reasonable.
  12. Die hard Manual guys get in here!

10 spped The 10 speed auto is a killer in the ZL1 Camaro, and is the same trans developed primarily by Ford. Watch this video and listen to this car being in the right gear all the time, the driver is not paddle shifting, car is in track mode and doing it all by itself...
