nope, it remembers it, just uninstall, restart, and install the new one. from then on it'll all work fine. turn car off for 5 minutes or so in between, not sure it's necessary but i did in my successful run.

there's another version of Forscan you need to use. it's linked in the other thread by Breeves. http://forscan.org/download/FORScanSetup2.3.14.test20180218.exe
Key thing though, you need to uninstall the old version first, restart...
not really, only thing is that some of it is deeper than it looks, as in it's not just flat, so you have to cut further back but it's pretty obvious, mainly bottom right in my pic (so bottom left for you)
i used a dremel so it's pretty precision, the vent housing never even came close to...

ok so you're right i haven't cut it out yet (although how you can tell that?? lol). i also don't have the bezel trim as it's on back order from Ford UK so i can't get it looking stock yet anyway. at the moment it's just wedged in and pretty secure lol

can confirm this works for UK RHD too using breeves AB in the spreadsheet and following the usual forscan process of enabling disabling features, all listed in the spreadsheet.

i like volume on the right because i tend to drive with left hand near the gear stick not on the wheel. also can adjust volume /skip track while changing gear etc
i would imagine, for LHD they now have that benefit? would be interesting to know the official reason.

if you were to ship the cluster itself from the states under the radar you could save a couple hundred in taxes, plus if you order the steering column control unit & switches from the states it's half the price, but back ordered. so that would be ÂŁ1400...

just updated mine. followed the pdf posted by PeterE and worked exactly as described, took about 20 minutes in total.
It says the USB has to be formated to exFAT, that's not always standard on USB drives so maybe people are skipping that step?
no sync 3 don't have an SD slot. as far as I've read, there are no nav updates on sync 3 yet and I can't find anything official looking that states they even will. What i do know is that the maps are stored on the APIM and not contained in the update file.
