You don't need anything extra to adjust the toe. You'll want camber plates to make the front camber changes easy. You can slot the struts and change the camber at the knuckle/strut joint but that is more difficult and reduces clearance between the tire and the strut body. Camber plates are the...
Thanks, and I agree. A friend and I figured out the laser pointer method many years ago. I have a 24" level that has one built into it that works great for this. It's much easier with two people, one to position and hold the laser/level and the other to take the readings on the scale on the...
Caster isn't really adjustable on these cars. I've had alignments done wrong by "professionals" although they've always fixed them after I checked. The shop I use now lets me hang out in the bay and "help" the technician. You'd be surprised how easy it is to mix up toe in and toe out.
It's like...
I do. Method:
I set the front camber first, if I'm changing it - usually either just check it or change it between street and track/autox. During autox season I'll just leave it maxed out negative camber<1>. I use a Longacre camber gauge although you can now get pretty decent camber readings...
Wet skidpad works best, it'll scrub off. It's common to end up with "Other People's Rubber" - OPR at big autocross events on concrete so I use a Harbor Freight cordless oscillating tool to remove it between run days. Some of the FWD guys get it really bad on their rear tires and have to clean...
I used the oil drain funnel yesterday and can say it fits and works great! I was curious of how well it would stay held up against the block but found that the fit onto the boss for the oil filter and the tabs that wedge between the chassis and steering boot held it very securely. I also have...
Hi Steve, it was great seeing you again last weekend. I should have also mentioned that I my RE71s were going off when we ran at Topeka, then I put around 20 runs on them at the Chicago 3-day event before heading back to Lincoln. They still have grip, but what I'm finding is they just don't have...
That's a tough one in my opinion. I know getting the balance correct is critical on these engines as they want to rattle themselves to pieces as it is already. Have you tried calling Ford Performance? I've heard they're pretty helpful. Good luck dude.
I agree, more negative camber would help a lot and look at any long RH turns that are killing that tire. I get -2.7 to -3.0 with the factory camber plates and would like to have more. My tires wear are more even than that. What pressure were you running? Based on the wear I'd suggest increasing...
Hey Sam! Interested to see your impressions of the Goodyears and the brake pads. What are you running for rear camber and toe?
To the previous post: Sam is a dealer of race stuff (stranoparts.com) and I'm a happy customer. You can buy those brakes and lots of other stuff from him and the prices...
Which is why I remove it between events. If you're looking for something to keep in all the time I'd put it to the right side of the infotainment screen. I don't know if ProClip has a mount for there or how strong it is.
Sure
One other thing I'll add is I remove it after every event so it has been on/off hundreds of times. It does not damage the trim is as firm and stable now as it was when I bought it six years (and one GT) ago. Much recommend.
No front plate after five years of Mustangs and not getting pulled over once. The plate is under the passenger seat just in case - "sorry officer, I was just about to install it". No regrets.
As one of the few Shelby owners without stripes I am compelled to explain my reasons. When silver was offered as a color in 2020 it was the final straw that made my decision to update my 15 Silver GT PP1 to a GT350 but I specifically shopped for one without the black roof and no stripes. I like...
I'm going to try and do some more of the TNiA events at HPT next year. I went to two this year. I'm still pretty new to track stuff so working on finding rhythm and getting smoother but with around 30 years of autox experience I'm not quite a rookie either. This is from the last event. If I'm...
I'm pretty sure the GT350 has larger 2-pc brake rotors front and rear where the Mach1 has smaller one-pc. Also, the 2019+ GT350 has a specific Magnaride tune that is different than the GT PP versions. I don't know if the Mach1 will get the same tune or not, and I realize that's not a mechanical...
