I think you answered your own question, your insurance company must have received notification of the track insurance rider and then raised your rates to "protect" themselves from a greater chance of you putting a claim in due to something that may happen while racing.

Mine still does this occasionally but passenger side only .
It will do it sometimes when using remote start now also , didn't when first reported to ford.

I have driven the eco and while it looks like a mustang , the sound and driving experience is very different.

You don't need to slam it shut, just a firm downward push. Mine work perfectly opening and I put a strap in the truck to pull down on first then push down with one hand with moderate force it seals with no problem.
