That is correct. As the transit process begins to finalize, you may see the EDD change a few times. If it increases rather than decreases, there is a hold up somewhere either in rail or truck.

My build date was 12/1 with an EDD of 1/21/15. The Mustang is now in transit with an EDD of 12/19!!!

Agreed. Too many variables to account for.

I have a build date of 12/1 in production status on COTUS and my dealer still swears the car will arrive around 12/13. I am located in South Central Pennsylvania.
