I had no intention of this being redundant nor did I want to stir the pot and start a pissing contest. I just wanted to share an experience and see if others thought the same thing.
I see where you are coming from, but it's not like I posted this in the general area. Usually posting that the Ecoboost is good in the Ecoboost forum is a pretty safe statement... But I digress, I bought my car because I enjoyed driving it. Did I like the GTs? Absolutely! Have I owned them in...
I leave my thread alone for an hour and this is what I get. Anyway, this was not intended as a "bro my Eco will dom on ur V6, GT, cause turbo bro" post. I mearly wanted to give a little insight for the folks that might look past the Eco because of the stigma. I stated that I like the Ecoboost as...
Today I got the urge to test drive the GT. Up until now I had resisted driving one because I was afraid it would ruin the EB for me. I drove a completely base Guard GT and was sort disappointed. I thought I would feel a bigger difference but it just wasn't there. Afterwards I grabbed the keys to...
The only real danger from running a straight pipe on a turbo is that it might overboost (IE the wheel forcing more air than the fuel system can withstand) I ran a muffler delete on my Focus ST with just the cat and a small resonator and there was no issue. I do know the Mustang is fairly loud...
You would "feel" the sway bar much more than the strut brace. But if you do go that route you will want a beefed up rear as well just to keep things balanced. From there a strut tower brace will be mostly cosmetic which isnt a bad thing.
I heard the EB activ8 at Barrett Jackson with the plate in they sound a bit better than factory but still quiet. With the plate out they are loud but sound good. Also they did tell me a tune may be coming down the pipeline.
Steeda has one available the will fit non-PP cars. STBs dont have the effect they used to because cars are so much more rigid than they used to be but, I am sure it would save a bit of chassis flex and they look pretty good.
The Mustang intercoolers are pretty resonably priced compared to other turbo cars on the market. I remember ST intercoolers clearing the $1000 mark and that was normal. Personally I am between the FFtec low end core or the MMR intercooler. At this point anything is an improvement over stock.
