Great example!
On the west coast, we are blessed with many tracks and those different tracks present very different temperature conditions where you can observe data. One track is Thunderhill raceway, where in a 5 mile configuration includes a 3 mile part with longer straits/sweepers that is...
Agree that the transmission may be the weak link that sets into limp mode, just don't think anything from the engine with respect to oil and coolant temps would be the trigger of limp mode on a high speed run. That said, it is not surprising to me that high speed runs on the autobahn doesn't...
There are a ton of autobahn videos out there that tangibly demonstrate that when speeds increase, due to the heat exchange effects of cool air hitting the intake and radiators, oil and coolant temps are stable or even go down a little as speed increases. This occurs also in high-revving M5s and...
Excellent camber plates and run -2.0 front. They have an excellent track record in the BMW world and offer the widest range of adjustment vs other camber plates for the GT350.
The 350/R normally aspirated FPC motor as well as overall chassis capabilities is what drove many to the model (and from some well respected marques). As the last of the high displacement, high revving N/As it already has its place in automotive history. As for the GT500, is completely insane...
While not related directly to coilovers, in addressing some of the earlier points and videos posted from the DSC website elsewhere in the thread, I've done a bunch of research including on TMO, and I think the jury is really still out on the DSC Magneride controller. Absent any independent...
Have been looking for data on the DSC controller with the stock magneride shocks and its impact on lap times. Can you point to where you have found this data?
The method that I used to drive my first manual years back was I went to the dealership, bought the car, and learned to drive it on the way home. Sure, you stall a few times but it's not gonna kill the clutch much. Then I would just drive around in residential neighborhoods practicing the...
The GS is probably going to feel a lot like your old car as the brakes/tire differential will really only be exploited on the track. The Z06s that I've encountered in Northern California, don't seem to have heat issues at the track, so may be more climate dependent. The GT350/R is definitely a...
In most performance cars, moving from the stock suspension to a more capable/ stiffer spring/coilover setup that goes from single to double/triple adjustable will at most, give you about 1.5 seconds on a ~2 mile track in the hands of a skilled driver. I would be very surprised given the...
As to why the GT350 tramlines is 1) sheer tire width, put the same width on any car and will also feel something similar; 2) tire compound. At least with the PSC2s, it is NOT the same compound as other PSC2s..these are far stickier tires with different tread/wear patterns compared to the PSC2s...
Patch it and will be fine for street use. Even though I and others have tracked tires that were patched without issue, it's not recommended and if not in a pinch, I would prefer to order a new tire.
